Guest guest
Thank you (and all) for the information! I feel much better about it. Part of happens with Parkinsons, in addition to the physical problems, is that a lot of fear and paranoia comes up. Of course it makes perfect sense that as fear increases, the body tightens up more and more, and that then the two play into each other. I want to be sure to make this as comfortable for him as possible (as if I can control anything!), and have answers for his questions, so he can be with Amma, and not only with fear. It's a completely new and different experience for him. This year I used the special needs seating myself while Amma was in San Ramon, but did not need early darshan, so never found out how that works. Hopefully they can get him up there shortly after the puja so he can go back to the room to rest! Sounds like there is a chance. Now what I am wondering is if anyone knows the actual start time. Amma.org says 7pm, and the Boston website says 6pm. And thanks for the welcome! Guest guest
Romi, I'm so excited that I'll get to see you this year, after all! The priority seating people will definitely take care of your dad and you can go for darshan with him if you want. If you'd feel more comfortable, you could even contact the coordinator in advance. It's great that you can bring your step-dad. I wish my dad were open to Amma's darshan! Love, Iswari Ammachi, Romi <romi_jordanna wrote: > > Thank you (and all) for the information! Guest guest
I can't wait to see you! Oh, I think contacting the coordinator is a great idea. I can ask all of his questions and be sure that it'll work out for the stepdad. I suppose I have to admit that there was some coercion involved in getting him to go. Okay lots. But for better or worse, he is going, and my prayer is that even the slightest bit of heart opening can happen for him in the presence of Amma. Guest guest
Hi, Romi. I just emailed one of the Boston coordinators to get contact info for the person in charge of priority seating. I'll forward that to you when I hear back from her. Here's to heart opening, Iswari Ammachi, Romi <romi_jordanna wrote: > > I can't wait to see you! > > Oh, I think contacting the coordinator is a great > idea. Guest guest
Hi Romi, The first year my husband, friend and I went to see Amma in Boston, the folks there were wonderful. Any questions we had were answered, and they took great care of us. My husband is in a power wheelchair, and everyone made sure he got up to see Amma in great time, and we were allowed to come with him. When my husband Bill first met Amma, he was a bit skeptical too, but now he looks forward to the trip and to seeing her again. Last year my Mother and her best friend came with us, and tho they really didn't know what to expect, were totally blown away! After darshan, we all met at the side of the room, but no Mom! I scanned the room looking for her as she cannot see very well without her glasses. Well we really had no need to worry, as Amma took extra time holding my Mother and she was right there safe in Amma's arms. I wasn't sure how Mom and her friend Pat would process the experience, but this year they are riding front and center in our van again on the trip to see Amma. I think they are just as excited to see Amma again as I am! I am looking forward to hearing how your Dad feels about this experience too! Take care, mare On Tue, 27 Jun 2006 22:00:41 -0700 (PDT) Romi <romi_jordanna > writes: > I can't wait to see you! > > Oh, I think contacting the coordinator is a great > idea.
