Guest guest
Jeanette, I agree with you completely. When this is done, how does it make the person responding any better than the person who originally made the statement? Amma has always demonstrated kindness, tolerance, patience and love even when faced with someone brandishing a knife at Her. Should we not be trying to behave in the way She uses Her life to exemplify? Maybe we should be thinking about the wounds that remain unhealed within someone who lashes out, and how we might be able to offer the healing balm of kindness, patience and unconditional love, rather than sinking down to another's level and giving back rudeness for rudeness. Often, people in pain only want to be heard and understood. Offering listening without judgement is a gift that takes little effort, and has unseen positive effects. Thank You for pointing this out for all of us, Beloved Sister!
