Guest guest
Does anyone know where Guru Purnima will be? I recall that we all had a great debate about the positions of stars and such, has anyone heard of a final verdict? My new husband and I will be going to Chicago and Iowa, and we are rooting for Iowa, of course! love, Prajna "Children, all of spirituality is contained in that one word: Awareness." - Amma

As far as I understand it, officially, GP falls on the travel day between Iowa and DC. If it¹s going to be celebrated, it would be celebrated on the waxing moon rather than the waning moon, which would mean Iowa. But nothing has been announced. Guest guest
I asked my kids to see if they could find out. Dayamrita Swami says he still doesn't know but his bet is on Iowa. Apparently Amma hasn't said yet. Sudha says if it's the second night in Iowa (June 9 into the morning of the 10th) that will be Devi Bhava and that would be unusual for Amma to do both. But who knows?? in Amma, Amalia

Guest guest
Dear Rick: For those of you who cringe when I write Amma's grace this and Amma's grace that I suggest you click away. Here I go - Through Ammas's infinite yet sublime Grace I decided to go to Iowa way before Guru Purnima was on Iowa's radar screen. Before this calender year I never had any inclination to see Amma in Iowa despite getting reports about the smaller crowds and laid back environment. What compelled me to go to Iowa this summer? Nevertheless Iowa and Guru Purnima may not happen. To be honest I booked Washington DC (also for the first time with Amma) presuming Guru Purnima would be in the Capitol. Now I have both bases covered if She so graces to allow me to fly to Iowa. Swami Dayamrita is betting on Iowa and Surya was right to argue with me about D.C versus Iowa. Amma has said in Seattle, San Ramon and L.A. this tour over and over and over and over .... When you go on a vacation try to remember the role that God has played in your journey before bragging to friend about the great vacation. Amma says without the Grace of God so many accidents could occur eg plane crash, auto accident. So through the Grace of the Beloved I may be able to worship my Guru and Master at Guru Purnima. (Goose bumps) Thank you Rick for your generous invitation to all of us. Midwest people like yourself show why it is called the Heartland. Guest guest
How long does it take to drive from NYC to Fairfield? I remember it was about 18 hours from Minneapolis to Philadelphia... : )

But the Amma 2006 calendar shows it on the 11th. Keval

The acoustics aren¹t too great in the facility we use (it¹s a basketball court/gymnasium) but the facility is pretty new, nice grassy campus, dorms within walking distance. All in all a cool place. Also, Fairfield is a town populated by several thousand people who have been meditating for decades, which is why Amma comes here. We generate a pretty good vibe, if I do say so myself.
