Madam, — Sachin was born at 13h.00m on April 24, 1973 at a Mumbai

hospital according to the correct time of birth provided by Mr.

G.S.Tendulkar (The A.M., Sept. 2005, page 610), as disclosed by

the attending doctor. The Ascendant would be Cancer, with Rahu and

Moon in the 6th (Sagittarius), Mars and Jupiter in the 7th

(Capricorn), Mercury in the 9th (Pisces), Sun and Venus in the 10th

(Aries), Saturn in the 11th (Taurus) and Ketu in the 12th (Gemini) as

per Lahiri Ayanamsa. Yogakaraka Mars forms Ruchaka Yoga and aspects

the Ascendant and exalted Sun in the 10th house. He also causes

Neechabhanga to Jupiter (Lord of the 9th in 7th). The latter also

aspects the Ascendant. This has given astounding success, fame and

wealth in life. There is no Sarpa Yoga in his horoscope as

highlighted by the media recently.

 

Rahu Dasa, Saturn Bhukti is from July 11, 2004 to May 17, 2007. The

Dasa and Bhukti lords are placed Shashtashtaka (mutually adverse

position) and in houses connected with injury and illness. Sachin

underwent the shoulder operation during Rahu-Saturn-Moon. With the

running of Rahu Dasa, Saturn Bhukti, the 6th, 7th, 8th and 11th

houses are stimulated. Transit Rahu has been aspecting Saturn in the

Ascendant. Saturn is in the 8th from the Moon since May 2005. These

factors fully explain his predicament. According to Phaladeepika (XXI-

32), during Rahu Dasa, Saturn Bhukti one suffers from"diseases caused

by the disturbance of wind and bile, wounds and injuries of the

body.... and loss of position". This has literally come true in this

case.

 

Currently Saturn is transiting the Ascendant and is in the 8th from

the Moon. The aspect of transit Mars from Gemini on the Moon and Rahu

is from April 3 to May 24, 2006. Mars will conjoin transit Saturn in

June and they will remain together till July 13th. This will be

aspected by Rahu from the 9th house which does not augur well for

Sachin's health. Benefic Jupiter's transit through Libra upto October

27, 2006 is helpful to the extent that due to his aspect on the 8th,

10th and 12th houses, the problem is responding well to treatment and

he is receiving full cooperation from cricket authorities.

 

In view of the foregoing discussion it is suspect if Sachin will

attain full gear for competitive cricket till the middle of July

2006. If he does play, he may not perform well and may risk the

aggravation of his problem.
