Guest guest
In *commonspeak* -- kundali would bring to the mind of many individuals speaking hindi etc -- the image of a snake! (Saanp kundali maar kay baithaa hai). Yet kundali to astrologers/jyotishi brings to mind the horoscope. Can some linguist, language historian please explain the connection? Thanks! Guest guest
Dear Rohini, Kundalini means jalebi, in Sanskrit, and could mean that to those with a sweet tooth. It means the primordial energy in the form of Chit-Shakti to those who pursue path of Yoga. The reason it is called Kundali in colloquial languages (In Sanskrit it is called Chakra, if I am not mistaken) could be because you begin at one end of it representing the head of snake as you enter this world and follow it uninterrupted till you reach the tail in 12th house from which point you are liberated. Of course this a conjecture only. Chandrashekhar. crystal pages wrote: > > In *commonspeak* -- kundali would bring to the mind of many individuals > speaking hindi etc -- the image of a snake!
