Saturn Cnj Mars in Cancer - A historical perspective

Saturn and Mars have been conjunct 17 times in Cancer in the last 300

years. The years are: 1710, 1711, 1740, 1741, 1769, 1771, 1799, 1801,

1829, 1857,1859, 1887, 1889, 1917, 1947, 1948, 1976 .

 

In 1857, 1887 and in 1710, the conjunction followed the Sa/Ge &

Node/Pi square combination much like the year 2005 had Sa/Ge & Node/Pi.

 

In 1710, 1711, 1859 and 1887 Ma was conjunct Sa and Rahu in Cancer, a

more potent combination.

 

Major events that started or grew severe in the Sa cnj Ma in Cn period

 

1. 1917 – October Revolution in Russia

2. 1857 – First war of Indian independence grew severe and Delhi fell

to the British

3. 1947 – Start of the first Indo-Pak war and usurping of Kashmir by

Pakistan

4. 1976 – Soweto riots in South Africa

 

Significant events

 

1. 1801 -Fall of Cairo to British troops

2. 1799 – Siege of Lahore by Ranjit Singh that led to the beginning

of the Sikh empire

3. 1741 – Great Negro plot to torch NewYork that led to lynching and

killing of blacks

4. 1948 – The Deir Yassin massacre in Plaestine by Israel

 

Significant Positive events

 

1. 1711- Invention of tuning fork

2. 1769 – First practical demonstration of steam engine by James Watt

3. 1829 – Patent awarded to William Burt for a writing mechanism that

led to typewriter

4. 1859 – Edwin Drake drills the first oil well. Moon/Sa/Ma& Ke were

within 2 degrees of each other on the day oil was first drilled.

5. 1917 – Maser ( concept similar to laser, but for sound) based upon

stimulated emission is proposed by Einstein

6. 1947 – First manned flight broke the speed of sound.

 

Non Event

 

Nothing much happened in 1740 (Ju in Ge), 1771 (Ju in Cp), 1887 (Ju in

Li), 1889 ( Ju in sg). Probably needs research.
