Guest guest
UH OH!! Now I am in big trouble! The last time my big brother said exactly those words was when I was about 10 year old and during playing with his 8 inch loudspeakers (he was a ham radio buff! I was just trying to ape him, pretending to be this big radio scientist who knows everything about speakers and radios!!) actually managed to leave my 'fingerprints' on it! More like the hole in the diaphragm through my fingers poking around things where they did not belong! It was to be a fateful day in my life! Dada asked me point blank,"Did you destroy it? Tell me the truth and I will not punish you!". I paused for a few seconds that I still remember and then I confessed! He let me go --with a wise expansive look in his eyes that I captured in my young mind then that I think I understand today and still try to live! He was 21 years old then and I can imagine, my little thoughtless experiment in 'empirical' science must have really cost him a pretty penny back then, in the cash reality!- But can you imagine the impression such a positive outcome from a simple testing of faith can leave for a lifetime? Maybe longer? It might have been a predestined moment but I could have lied and I would not have been telling your proudly this story today 40 some years later or benefitted from that predestined moment that forced a 10-year old to choose between this or that! Life is a collection of significant moments that are significant if you are paying attention!! It could have as easily gone the other way ... Don't knock the power of choice!!
