Guest guest
Years ago I saw a movie, Kaal, Aaaj aur Kaal, meaning, Yesterday, today and tomorrow (interestingly, the same word -- kaal (pronounced like cull -- a bad violent word, or like gull -- a pest of a bird who can be quite bold and approach you in picnic spots!). Anyway, it was a story of three generations, the grandfather played by Prithviraaj Kapoor (the only guy I know who can put Amitabh's baritone to shame!), his son Raj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor's other son, Dabboo (not the handsome and more famous -- Rishi Kapoor). I know this is probably meaning nothing to many on this forum who may not be tuned to the Kennedy-s of Bollywood -- The Kapoors of yesteryears! It is the story of a father, his son and grandson. We talk and wrestle about the matter of lifetimes. Is it as complex as many make it out to be but just another layer that the tripods are supposed to tell us about? Kaal (9), aaj (1) aur Kaal (5). No hint, no promises, no solutions -- just a thought, a question. This is planting season is some places and growing older I am beginning to sense and see the power of GREEN (don't mean US cash, but NATURE, you cynical types!!). As I write this, I suddenly realize that I had been surrounded by gardens and those who tend to those, all my life and for some reason always had a resistance towards it, as in hands-on gardening! I must be getting older if not wiser -- because I am beginning to notice these things about myself! RR
Guest guest
I usually do not talk to myself ;-) ... but just noticed that I did not mention that Prithiviraaj, Raaj and Dabboo (Randhir Kapoor) who played the father, son and grandson in this movie were actually those relationships in real life!
