Dear Mr.Prafulla,

Aacharya "VARAHMIHIRA" had introduced a chart called "SHIVPATRA" regarding time / Muhurta of leave the home for travelling as categorising MAHENDRA KAL as the best, AMRIT KAL - better, VAKRA KAL - medium and

SHUNYA KAL as harmful.According to me to get birth or death is the matter of our KARMA and to follow Muhurta etc is our creativity called PURUSHARTHA

to do the best in all manner as much as we can.

I like the way you put that! Similarly remedies are also purushartha.

 

The question next the 'fate/destiny camp' raises is: Do either work,

muhurta and remedies?

 

I personally do not believe in absolute fate. It makes the whole

scheme of human birth, learning etc meaningless!

 

I will continue to hold that view until that very day when I actually

see Pinocchio come alive and become a 'real boy' and not just by Walt

Disney's magic!

Re Muhurta, as I expressed earlier, I am not very well read in muhurta astrology; However in simple terms - is Muhurta is remedial measure for marriage / house etc? or it is a birth chart for that specific auspicious event/object? If it is remedial measure, then fine..any pooja is good ..no questions. But if it is sort of manipulating birth chart, then there are various doubts in small human mind of its relevance.

 

It always sounded to me that people tend to manipulate birth chart of that event through muhurta. and if, it is not remedial measure - then we are trying to fool god (or ourselves?).

Purushartha includes manipulation of birth time??? Just think about muhurta like birth event...probably, you might agree with the philosophy of "occurence" like Sanyas is never taken..it has to "occur".

 

Yes, the homa, yagya etc as remedial measure are fine at auscipious events.
