AUM SAI RAM

Dear All,

Bhagawan Baba says "See God in all creatures!"

When my sons were small, they loved to listen to bedside stories and I

had a generous repertoire of short stories which I took delight in

telling them mimicking the different characters. One which I would like

to share with you to day is the story of Totaparsad and Sairam.

Totaparsad was an old gentleman who for no apparent reason was angry

with God. However when you look at his lifestyle - big mansion, Bmw car,

several clubbing friends, you find that God has been very generous with

him. Totaparsad had sworn that he will never listen to or utter the name

of God.

One day, Totaparsad, was tidying his room when a parrot flew in through

the open window and settled on his bedpost. Totaparsad saw the bird and

said:

"Idea! I will catch the parrot and teach him to say `Silly!'

Won't it be hilarious to see the face of the people who greet him or

talk to him?"

Totaparsad quietly closed his window to catch the bird. But Totaparsad

did not know that the parrot was Sairam, a temple bird who had come to

teach him to listen to and to recite the name of God.

After several unsuccessful attempts to get hold of Sairam, Totaparsad

became so exasperated and so furious that he started to insult the poor

bird:

"Stupid!" he said to which the parrot replied "Sairam!"

"I will kill you!" continued Totaparsad

"Sairam!" answered the temple bird

It went on and on until Totaparsad had no choice but to open the window;

Sairam flew high into the sky.

Totaparsad bent his arms and exclaimed:

"Preposterous! All that this bird can say is `Sairam!

Sairam!"

Thank you for reading this story.

At the lotus feet of Sai

Anita
