Guest guest
Dear Richardji & All, The Sindhu river originates from the Manasa Sarovar created by Brahma and hence we have to consider Brahma as the ruling deity. Guest guest
Dear Richardji, Yes, I am working on all the holy rivers we have listed, all seven Shankhas, Dwaraka Shila, Govardhana Shila and the Narmada Shivalinga. I would also like to thank you for the PGA membership and the wonderful book you presented me. The presentation and printing quality are really excellent. If our Holy objects book turns out to be anything like that I'll be very happy. As we dwell deeper into our "objects de' worship" project, I think we have to categorize them into two kinds as follows: The 1st are the "Primary objects of worship" - ones with authentic scriptural reference like the Holy rivers, Saligramas, Narmadalinga, Rudrakshas, main gemstones, Pepal Tree, Banyan tree, Darbha/Kusha grass etc, etc. The 2nd are the "Secondary objects of worship" - ones which don't have any scriptural reference but have become revered object based on "flock lore and legends etc." like Hatha jodi, Tiger tooth, one eyed cocoanut etc. These do exist and a lot of people believe and worship them but unless scriptural reference is there we cant categorize them as a primary object of worship. What I am trying to say is simple – we can't put Saligrama and tiger tooth on the same spiritual pedestal. We have to fix some basic reference parameters for categorizing the primary holy items. There should be some mention about them in the primary scriptures - the Vedas & Upanishads, Gita, Manu Smriti, Patanjali Yogasutras, Brahmasutras OR in any of the recognized 18 main Puranas or the 18 upa puranas OR in any of the main recognized Tantrik texts. References from the books/lectures of modern Gurus or astrologers should not be considered scriptural authority. If no reference is there it has to go into the "Secondary" category. Do let me know your comments. On 6/13/06, Richard Shaw-Brown II <rsbj66 > wrote: > > Dear Pt Tata, > > Namaste!!! Thank you for that!
