Guest guest
AUM SAI RAM Dear Sai Family At the Prasanthi Book shop ,you will find a small copy book called the 'Likatha Japam'. You are invited to write a 'japam'- aum sri sai ram or sri sai ram- 108 times or 1008 times in this copy book . After you have completed the copy book, you can send it to the Trust. The pages are cut into convenient sizes and the sacred vibhuthi is placed therein and served as prasaad. This written japam is a Spiritual exercise. Matter of fact, when you think 'aum sri sai ram' and you write 'aum sri sai ram' , what you are doing is to remember the name of the Lord twice; if you were to recite 'aum sai ram' at the same time, you are remembering the name of the Lord thrice. But this is not all. Many Brothers, Bodla Ramesh. Rajesh, Sai Papu ( not long ago ) and others post regularly on this forum , quotations and messages of Bhagawan Baba. Moreover, everyday of the week, our Webmaster sends us the thought of the day. We have to be thankful to them. They are doing a Spiritual exercise by copying the quotes ,messages and thoughts and sending them to us ; they should be encouraged to tread on the Spiritual path .We too, we are doing a Spiritual exercise by reading them. " There are many ways to load your chariot with me..." says Bhagawan Baba . Likatha Japam is one; Study Circle is another; Seva is yet another; so is Satsang. Guest guest
Sai Ram A very noteworthy message from Anita on LIKHIT JAPA. I have personally found this excercise superior to just Nama Japa - but, let this not imply that nama japa is in any way inferior. You see - nama japa - is rotating the nama on your tongue continously while you go about your tasks and work and where you get involved in that task and forget the japa - you recover, as soon as you realise it, to keep doing japa. In the LIKHIT version - there is more focus. You have be sitting in a comfortable writing position. Now, the mind contemplates, the tongue recites, the hands write and the eyes confirm what is written. So likhit japa becomes a japa with FOCUS - this focus is also absent for normal rosary based japa. Due to the focus - and the tasks at hand - this can be done for some limited time regularly. Say writing a page or two as the first activity you do on reaching office. The effect of likhit japa is that the nama japa that you do after likhit japa has a strong bond to the written mantra. Swami appreciates neatness and orderliness in everything - even likhit japa - so use your imagination how you will decorate the page - one idea is to use different coloured pens - Regarding our heroes who are posting such valuable messages of Baba - well the internet is a handy tool and all we have to do is cut and paste. But, when so many different sources are sending His messages - they loose their essence. I suggest research by our heroes to send Baba message and give the back ground also or the story behind the message.
