Namaskarams Narasimha!! thank you so much for the previous posting....it was very well put, and beautifully written...a perfect example of what a Sakta might say...now you are talking Sakta speak so to speak...with all these lovely referral to the Triple Goddesses....Maha Saraswati, Maha Laksmi and Maha Kaali...what you are saying is quite similar in my view to what Sri Aurobindo was expressing in His Great work "The Mother" Also what you are saying coincides very well with what my Guru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi teaches...She always says that whatever form of the Divine appeals to one, that is the form that one should call out to and the Divine will then appear in that form to the devotee...that doesn't imply that any other forms are not so good, or invalid...but rather it is saying that ALL forms of the Divine are equally valid if you wish to call Her in that form...and that certain forms are more appealing than others to each of us...and that is the form that we should approach in our sadhana....just as you are approaching MahaLaksmi... it is true that we need to put our OWN samskaras to the side, when we are trying to find Ishta Devatas for our friends and clients...because they may not have the same samskaras as we do....if we are Saktas, the client might be a Saivite, or a Vaishnava, or a Christian...we must attempt to deal with them on their OWN terms, rather than on ours...otherwise what we are giving them will be for them like trying to eat stones... again, thank you for the wonderful post.... by the way...did you read my previous letter wherein i was asking you to try and help me to find the Ishta Devata for a friend of mine... She told me today that her Ishta Devata is really Abirami, and that Ammachi had given her a mantra for Abirami...now i wonder how one might arrive at such an Ishta Devata from the information i had given in that previous letter? hoping that you have the time to take a look, and to answer my question, as it will help me a lot to understand this. in Amma's Divine Love, and in Her Service, as ever, visvanathan Om Namah Sivaya!
