Guest guest
Gauruv, The illustrious Varahamihira, who gave us not just the jataka but also samhita that sustained and still do -- many of the most illustrious mundane astrologer-predictors of our times as we know those -- assuredly and a classic par none -- did not talk about rahu or ketu at all, but all other *classics* did! What do we make out of that? You used too many examples in your one message, with very little elaboration. You make a good point, but do not elaborate it, one at a time. For starters, I request that one leave out all charts that have one planet or the transsaturnine ones that are out of the grasp of the nodes out of this consideration, as well as those that are in the same sign as the nodes, regardless of whether they are higher or lower in degree positions than the nodes in those charts. The best way to figure this thing out, especially when not too many classical sources are available (although in then last couple of months or so, A.M. has published a letter that makes some real good sense, those who to The Astrological Magazine from Bangalore, please note!) -- is to take one chart and focus on that! Maybe what was perceived as due to KSY is explainable otherwise, or maybe not! But if we just flip from chart to chart and factor to factor in a furtive way, as has been the general tendency, we would end up thirty or forty years from now, fighting and trying to prove the very same issues and conundrums as those before us, thirty or forty years ago were at and tried to resolve in such strong a voice and here we are still wondering and questioning and arguing! Be it ayanamsha, dasha, dasha duration, KSY, VRY, mahapurusha yoga, sarpa yoga, you name it! There was a musical piece I heard long ago, I think it was called perpertuuam mobile -- the music that goes on and on, never ends! Kind of like the perpetual motion machine -- a MYTH! Do we really want Jyotish to become our perpetuuam mobile immortalis - - for us and the generations to come?
