Guest guest
Astrology is tricky business -- it can be very sensitive to minor changes -- so it scares most astrologers when a rather radical shift is proposed by anyone. The emotions are more turbulent when such proposals sound like claims. The teapot really comes to a boil if the proposals and claims are not accompanied by a sincere attempt to demonstrate and validate. This is not just about astrology but about many other human endeavours. Some examples include, on the scientific end, software that can predict properties of a chemical and its behaviour out there on the environment or on biological species, or a software than can predict human behaviour and diagnose diseases (Mayo clinic is still trying to create the silicon physician and oldtimers in the quest of silicon shangri-la must have heard of the software called Elizah (or Elisa, I forget the spelling) and more to the interest of many on this forum, the technical analysis software which predicts how a stock will perform to aid profitable speculations. A lot more money and resources are riding on these and similar predictive activities than in the astrological software realm, bandhugan! Many of these software marvels (effective or not) were created, nurtured and developed in rather hostile environments. A goodly part of the developer went into the refining of the products, just like any invention, really. It is a very touch-and-go and rather sensitive territory. When someone comes forth with a rather wild-sounding (just because it differs from our mindset or comfort-zone or zone of acceptability, also known by cruel critics simply as "personal bias") idea or proposal -- the first impulse is to attack as opposed to attach! Jyotishis, despite their fights and seeming displays of egos are generally considered as rather high-strung bunch who as a joker inside me (who entertains you from time to time, at my expense even!) reminds you at times that all jyotishi seem to be always around the noon-sun! In other words, they cannot see their own shadows! If anyone had been following all the exchanges, I draw your attention to this: Through me directly and personally, over the last several weeks and months (and this I say with zero arrogance) and interactions with many here -- it has been demonstrated (and I was not planning any of this!) that anger and insults are really skin- deep and really all this fighting and even insulting from time to time, in letter or spirit is so thin that an observer would almost say that it is just waiting for a little bit of acceptance, a bit of love and what they teach in modern executive schools: active listening or at least a more tangible display of active listening! I realize that it becomes difficult to practice the active listening when one claims but does not seem to take the time to open up and display his wares, which in some cases could be a lifetime's pursuit and reasearch. We should always ask, if the person is reluctant to share because he has been beaten up many times earlier, for just that: openly sharing and is now understandably almost paranoid and closing all doors. That would really be sad, in the context of astrology, dear friends, won't you say? Despite some rare examples, there is no big money to be made in astrology, there is no nobel prize waiting for astrologers. Most astrologers that I know seem to even try and keep under cover lest they be considered as weirdos! Many wait for retirement while praying for health and energy then, so that they can flex their astrological muscle and come out of their pragamtically chosen 'closet' often of years and decades! Tarun Chopra ji, I am willing to listen to your evidence about your ayanamsha. And I will personally attack anyone on this forum -- anyone who tries to act cocky or be irrationally critical and impatient before you have had a decent chance to display your findings and proofs on this forum. Even if you do not take me up on this offer, I would not automatically assume that you have nothing of substance to share in this matter perhaps because you have not had any positive experiences in the past. I know you are young, but that is not an issue. So please take this serious and sincere offer and you have the floor as they say ...!
