Sai Ram Brothers and Sisters,

Some of the brothers and sisters have asked that I share the lyrics to "God Lives In India" with the members of the forum.

I thought that you might have an interest in what inspired me to write the piece. So, I've included the lyrics below, following a response to Soumendra, which explains how I was inspired to write this song.

Thank you all, for your assistance in finding the quotation I was seeking.

Much Sai Love and Peace,

Your Sister in Sai,

April Bailey

Sai Ram Dear Soumendra,

Thank you, so much for your prompt response. Through this wonderful network of Sai sisters and brothers, I have finally found the quotation.

This is very important to me, because I'd wanted to share, exactly, what inspired me to write the song "God Lives In India." Indeed, RK Karanjia's book was a part of this.

One day, I happened to be listening to a gospel song, in which the artist sang: "Say So... Let the redeemed of the Lord Say So... don't you think it's time you ought to Say So." I was very moved by the theme of the song. As I listened to the song, I thought of how, many of us who have experienced Sai's love and grace, and accept Him as a Divine incarnation, appear to be afraid to admit our beliefs, to others, outside of the Sai fold.

I thought of the times that people ask, "who is Sai Baba?," and oftentimes we say "He is a Great Spiritual Teacher" or some other title that seems innocuous to the person. While we know that Swami is a 'Great spiritual teacher,' we, also, know that He is the Avatar of this age. Although, we know that He is the omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient Lord of the Universe, rarely do some of us admit to this knowledge (unless we are talking to a Sai brother or sister).

As I thought about this I recalled Swami's words, as they were fresh in my mind, at the time: "When someone asks you in great earnestness where the Lord is to be found..."

The theme from the gospel song "Say So," Swami's words exhorting us not to be evasive in our responses about Him, and RK Karanjia's courageous assertion that "God Lives In India," all came together that day and made a powerful impact on me.

In fact, I was so moved that I was inspired to write a song entitled "God Lives In India, in 1994." Now, that I share this devotional song with others, I want to share the inspiration for its creation, as well.

I thank you so much, once again, for your assistance in my search for this quotation. I hope I have not taken too much of your time.

Much Sai Love and Peace,

Your sister in Sai,

God Lives In India

Lyrics and Music composed by April Bailey

Divinely inspired. Copyright April Bailey 1994

Love made a promise long ago

That He would come to Earth again

And the wise have always prayed that they'd know

When He comes and how to recognize Him

But there are some who doubt that He cares

They depend on someone else

But He made a promise that He'd come here

Yes the Lord had said that He would come Himself

Now think! Would anyone stand and watch a

drowning man

No. You'd dive in and pull him to land

So if God has come before He would not wait and

ignore

That we need Him to dive in and pull us safely

ashore

And that's what He's done He's come to Earth

He has dived in yes love has taken birth

So I'm not afraid and not ashamed to say that

CHORUS: God Lives In India! God Lives In India!

God Lives In India Today!

Love made a promise long ago

And He has kept his word

But we don't always say that we know

Out of fear that some will think that it's absurd

And while its true that God is everywhere

He's even in the heart of man

But today I must confess that we're all very

blessed

For we're privileged to see God walking on land

Now think! Would anyone stand and watch a

drowning man

No. You'd dive in and pull him to land

So if God has come before He would not wait and

ignore

That we need Him to dive in and pull us safely

ashore

And that's what He's done

He's come for you and me

So that with Him we'll be one

And then we'll be free

So I'm not afraid and not ashamed to say that

CHORUS: God Lives In India! God Lives In India!

God Lives In India Today!

Dear Sai borthers and sisters

This is a proof to strengthen our faith in our dear lord recharge ourselves and serve with humility at the lotus feet . Every word of his is true. As far as I know, there is no country in this world where you cannot find a devotee who has full faith and trust in Him. Even in places where there is restrictions to practice ones own religion those leaders will soon realise that Sai is beyond all religion and people have every right to practice whet they believe. Prasanthi Nilayam is a good example, you can see thousands of people gathering and trying to have a glimpse of our dear Lord, sincerely attempting to follow his divine messages and put them into practice. Thank you sister Bailey for your wonderful lyrics, we will be happy if we could hear that too(please guide us if there is an audio). Thank you brother Soumendra for letting us know the quote May swami shower his choicest blessings on all.

Sairam
