Guest guest
Duty Love your family much. This is our great duty. Love mankind more. This is our greater duty. Love God most. This is our greatest duty, the duty supreme. An aspirant's life is the life that has to perform the duty supreme. His first and foremost duty is to realize God. There is no greater duty than this in his life here on earth. Time is fleeting; time does not wait for us. We have to be wise. We can utilize each moment for a divine purpose. We can utilize each moment in performing our soulful duty. In order to realize God, one does not have to leave society altogether for good. If one leaves society, or in the larger sense, humanity, then how can one establish and manifest divinity here on earth? But one has to be wise in his spiritual search. He has to know that God comes first and then humanity. If one goes to humanity first and serves humanity according to his limited capacity or just to feed his ego, then he is not fulfilling God in society or in humanity. So to serve humanity properly, divinely, one has first to go to Divinity and from there, one has to approach humanity. At that time, the help will be most beneficial. "Baba said... The average disciples are those who carry out the orders of their Masters to a letter, without any delay and the third kind of disciples are those, who go on postponing the carrying out of their orders and make mistakes at every step." Guest guest
SAI RAM, With Pranams at Bhagawan Baba`s Divine feet, I would like to share some thoughts in this connection. Ma Sarada, the Holy Mother, wife of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was a personification of Selfless Duty(Nishkama Karma). Her spiritualism was in her motherliness. She was constantly engaged in motive-free service. We all have this Universal Mother hidden in us. When we are dutiful, there is neither any giving of love nor getting of love. It is a loveless state. Indian Philosophers have said a lot about duty. They had inner compassion which got reflected in their thinking and behaviour. Ma Sarada was mother to thousandswithout being a biological mother. Motherliness is there in all of us. It gets manifested when we begin loving people as our very own. Let us Love God and the God in all. If we are a Karmayogi we will not expect anything in return. We will find we are enveloped by love and this will enable us to do our duty well. Sawmy Vivekananda , however, has stated that those who want to be Karmayogis should get rid of the idea of "duty". He said, "Whatever you want to give to the world, give by all means ,but not as a duty." Duty becomes compulsion and everything we do under compulsion goes to build up expectation of result (karmaphala) and attachment. True Duty is that which is performed unattached and when performed by giving up all work as offering to God ( in a Samarpan Bhava). In fact, all our duties are His. We bring up our children not out of a sense of duty, but out of pure, unslfish love. It is important to bring out the compassion latent in our hearts-not just for our family alone, but for all. Let Love blossom. Love is God. God is Love.
