Nature of Saint The nature of saint or yogi is to participate in the divine knowledge propagation. Ex: Ramana Maharishi renunciated (left family mother) and participated in the propagation of divine knowledge. Adi Sankara left His mother who is in old age and requires the physical help of a son. Still Sankara left her to participate in the divine knowledge propagation. He walked all over India 3 times during the Jnana Prachara. Saint or yogi will not sit idle. Swami Vivekananda left his family and participated in the divine knowledge propagation. He worked even 17-18 hours/day for the lord's mission. So everybody wearing saffron clothes cannot be called Saint or Yogi. Hanuman is also another example but he did not wear saffron clothes. As a Saint renunciates from family, he will not be earning money. So He does only karma sanyasa i.e., sacrificing all his energy in the divine knowledge propagation only. He is not having any duties also. Renunciation itself is for the propagation of divine knowledge. Otherwise it has no meaning. A householder has to do both karma phala tyaga (donating money for lord's mission) and karma sanyasa (sacrifice of personal work for the sake of lord's mission). This is called service or karma yoga. Gita Says 'karma yogena yoginaam'. at the lotus feet of shri datta swami surya www.universal-spirituality.org
