Dear friends,

This is a very important point raised by you.

Best reference that I can remember for this is PHALADEEPIKA.Here Shri Kalidas has mentioned that

i) A PLANET IN RETROGRESSION IS AKIN TO BEING EXALTED. But

ii) A RETROGRADE PLANET IN EXALTATION WILL GIVE RESULTS LIKE ITS

DEBILITY.

iii) A RETROGRADE PLANET IN ITS DEBILITATION SIGN IS LIKE AN EXALTED

PLANET.

These are very strong principles and certainly deserve further research. As per my little experience I have found them to be working.

Awiting further response from all the learned members,

Best regards

Jainendra

Dear friend,

Pandit Gopesh Kumar Ojha in his book "Predictive Astrology of the Hindus" 1998 Edition at page 179 states, "Planets in retrogression become strong, but if a planet is in his sign of exaltation and retrograde also, the efficacy of his being in his exalted sign is impaired."

Does the planet loose its exaltation if it is retrograde?
