Guest guest
Dear Sri Chandrasekhar, I am myself a musician (carnatic vocalist) and got all the combinations you mentioned. Therefore, I started researching the horoscopes of other musicians. Once I get a handful of information, I will be able to present more details to this group. Interestingly noted astrologer-writer Sri PS Sastry wrote in his book on Scientific Vedic astrology (I don't remember the title exactly) the following point. Degrees 10-12 in Karkataka Rasi (approx. covering the third pada of Pushyami Nakshatram) and Makara Rasi also represent Music and Painting. Interestingly I am a musician and painter too, and having some important planets in these degrees. I think that, while the 5th house rules creativity in any field in general, the 3rd house rules communication/writing/painting/music etc, as 3rd house represents hands (for written communication or even instrumental music) and throat (for vocal music). However, for the 3rd house to give more artistic skills rather than just the communication skills alone, the one's watery signs and watery planets must exert influence in the horoscope. Also the Navamsa position of the 3rd Lord and 5th Lord are very important for consideration of artistic fields. I have been doing lot of astrological (re)search related to artists in general and musicians in particular. Finally one should have support of Venus to be a successful artist. Please correct me if I am wrong. Your inputs are greatly appreciated, as always. Guest guest
Dear Satya, Your observations are right. I think in Karkataka or Makara the navamsha ruled would be ruled by Guru, for better results. So maybe it would be between 16.40 to 20 degrees. Your other observations are right. Venus will have to be connected with preferably the 10th for a professional artist, though it could connect to 11th or 9th too. It is good that you are doing research on this aspect. Please also let me know as to whether Percussion artists relate to Mars. Also about other instruments. This type of research will certainly be very meaningful. I wish you all success. Chandrashekhar. Guest guest
Dear Satyaji, Please post your birth details, if possible. Your points are appealing and stimulating. Such subtleties (like 10-12 degrees in Cancer) need special attention and further research / empirical verification. There are many such unexplored but important secrets of vast Vedic Astrology only a small fraction of which we know.
