Guest guest
Namaskarams to All! I am a new member, joined just today. I am in Chennai and am doing voluntary service with Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama in Chennai. I would like to receive suggestions/help from members on the following : I am reciting Mahannyasam alongwith other members of the Veda class and would like to know the detailed meaning of the verses. Possibly word for word meaning, etc. Is there any book having detailed Bhashyam on Mahannyasam, if so, who is the author and where can I get it? I would appreciate help from our members/moderators Pranams once again. Kalivaradhan
Guest guest
Dear Chi Kalivardhan God bless you. Chanting of Mahanyasam - in my experience for the past twenty plus years, eliminated lot of domestic disturbances in the houses where it is played. It is an hour cassette. It takes some time to learn this and in the meantime daily tuning this in the houses in the morning hours brings lot of freshness and positive thinking. YOU WILL APPRECIATE THAT EVERYTHING HAS NO SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION, and as a Chief heading SAINTS - the School for Scientific Analysis on Indian Traditional Systems, could not find answers for certain matters. Mahanyasam is nothing but incorporating Lord Shiva in all the parts of the body to attain a stage of ONENESS - in the sense - NAA RUDRO RUDRA MARCHAYET - you can not worship LORD RUDRA WITHOUT YOURSELF BECOMING RUDRA. In Anganyaas and Karanyaas - the main parts of the body such as Hriday, Siras, Sikha, Kavacha, Netra and Astra are for Anganyaas and five fingers from the thumb and Astra in association with both hands - are the simplest forms of entering into any mantra sadhana. Mahanyaas is above all this, it carries the MARTUKAAS - the Beejaksharaas to all the parts of the body and all the parts of the worshippers body are assumed as the parts of the Lord himself. You will find it amusing to know - Tato bhuta preta pisacha - Maam Rakshantu - is the chanting in between of the mahanyaas in the first part. You expect yourself to remain safe from many evil forces. The next is Atma Raksha and so on. Please look into my mails or read my books which are given free of cost(at present they are in Telugu). The Bhashyam is under print. Guest guest
OM namaH shivAya | FYI, The encoded mahAnyAsam text is being proofread. It needs update with last part. It is available, among others, at http://sanskrit.gde.to/doc_trial/ (see the sorted list) and will be moved to http://sanskrit.gde.to/doc_shiva/ where all Sanskrit documents related to Lord Shiva are kept in different formats. Hope devotees will be able to make use of the collection. Guest guest
SURYAKSHETRA-117 4th June 2006 What this little man speaks…………………………………. This time I desire to give you information relating to the items for Abhishek of Lord Shiva and the results thereof based on an authoritative text Rudra Kaaamyaarchana Vidhi and more detailed in my book AISWARYA LAKSHMI SAADHANA -8 which is given Free of cost as a matter of principle. Payasaa sarva sowkhyaani dadhyaarogyam balam yasah…………………………….. It is a little lengthy slok and in case I desire to write the entire slok this page may not permit us to go further. Therefore I am giving here under the essence of the slok in direct and short terms without creating any confusion. Cow Milk – Sarva Sowkhyam; Cow Curds – Arogyam, balam; Cow Ghee – Wealth; Sarkara – Duhkah Nasan; Honey – Tejo Vridhi; Cane Juice – Dhan Vridhi; Coconut water – Sarva Sampad Vridhi; Bhasma – Mahaa Paap Haram; Sugandhodakam – Putra Prapti; Pushpodakam – Bhoo labham; Bilvodakam – Bhog Bhagya; Doorvodakam – Nasta Dravya Prapti, Sesame Oil – Apamruthyuharam; Rudrakshodakam – Mahadaiswaryam; Suvarnodakam – Daridra Vinasanam; Rice – Rajya Prapti; Grape Juice – Sakala Kaarya Jayam; Kharjura Juice – Satru Haani; Juice of Black Guava – Renunciation; Kasturi Jal – Majesty; Navaratna Jal – Dhanya Gruha Goprapti; Juice of Mango – Deerkha Vyadhi Vinasanam; Turmeric Powder – Mangal Pradam; and many more such are described. I have personally experienced the powers of these and even in the recent Shri Aswamedhayaagam I preferred performing of Abhishek to Lord Shiva with these items. Particularly – the juice of mango helped us to cure many long lasting ailments. Probably people could not follow this for two reasons – 1) non availability of this text message or the ancient book, and 2) lack of faith, time and belief something like that. The pasupat prayog consumes some additional time and procurement of the aforementioned items too needs special attention for procurement. It may be a fact that people preferred to complete the abhishek more as a RITUAL than else. For many Yugs the abhishek of Lord Shiva was existent in India. One small logical point – in the good olden day’s people never used to believe and implement matters which were not result oriented. The trust is built up over a period of time and upon clear testing. Only upon our ancestors acceptance of Abhishek etc poojas today we are in that line and we are trained from childhood. But time made us to take these matters as a matter of Ritual than as a perfect proof of achieving desired results. I shall be back again soon……………………… Adhyatmitka Ratna, Sri Yaaga Vidya Praveena, Vedanta Visarada Dr P V Sesha Sai Aswamedhayaaji www.ashwamedhayaagam.org E Mails: shodasisai (AT) hotmail (DOT) com, shodasisai , shodasisai (AT) rediffmail (DOT) comCamp: Los Angeles, California, USA Phone 310 293 9066 kalivaradhan <kali (AT) vsnl (DOT) com> wrote: Namaskarams to All! Guest guest
Dear Chiranjeevi It is advisable for you to purchase a audio cassettee of Mahanysam and I think Geetha Press Gorakhpur has published this in all Indian Languages. They have their stalls in all major railway stations too. The script can be purchased from them. In Hyderabad they have a very big office and the address is Manager, Geetha Press(Gorakhpur), Koti, Hyderabad, AP. With regard to audio cassettee, you may get one best which I found of Shri Gangadhar Sastry and perhaps it will be available in all audio shops. If you can not get one such, I will try to arrange for you soon after reaching India.
