Om Triyambakam Yajamahe

  Sugandhim Pushti Vardanam

  Urva Rukamaiva Bandanam

  Mrityor Mukshiya Mamritate

I wish I know where you could learn the tune, though, it's really beautiful. I learned it at Shivaratri at the MA Center this year, and Anaghan and I chant it together all the time. I like it even more than the Gayatri mantra and others. You could always make up your own tune.

  love,

Everywhere and right here too!

Basic Version:

OM. Tryambakam yajamahe

Sugandhim pushti-vardhanam

Urva rukamiva bandhanan

Mrityor mukshiya mamritat

It is transliterated many ways.  It also has a particular rhythm, so best to listen to it first.

You can do that at many places on the web.  Here is one nice one that is continous chanting:

Here is another:

in case anyone is interested below i the meaning of this healing

mantra of Siva's that i borrowed from Shree Maa's website;

We worship the Father of the three worlds, who emits the excellent

fragrance which nourishes all.  As a cucumber is released from its

bondage to the stem, so may we be freed from Death to dwell in

immortality.
