Please allow me to digest this "Someone suggested" It is possible (how can I tell) that Amma used that "someone" as Her instrument to instruct you and now the Y-Satsang on how to offer during Darshan. When I offer a fruit to Amma (Good lord what a blessing to offer the Divine Mother anything) I offer Her my MIND and my Heart and all of me - every cell -every membrane, on the physical plane or subtle plane. "Please take my ego, it's a burden to me." Sisterji the acknowlegment of the burden speaks volumes about your awareness. Most of the world thinks to ego is a plus. This weekend I shared a long auto ride with two elderly and learned devotees of Sri Ramakrishna. We were talking about the personality clashes within a spiritual community. I always have to be "clever" like Cliff the mailman on the old TV show "Cheers". Somewhat egoically I interjected "It has to be Ego" The devotee named Bill who is in his 80's quickly corrected: {The "unripe ego" is to be discarded. Not the "ripe ego"[ He was correct. I was reminded that the ego is not a throwaway line. Sri Ramakrishna said that the Ripe Ego is quite alright. Still GeorgeSon (or Cliffieson) the BASTON (Boston) mailman can comment on Vedanta oh sure!! Let us offer Amma whatever feels appropriate. Oh Amma take my Cliffieness. O Amma take my know it all personae. Oh Amma protect me from Egoity. Sweta also wrote" 'seemed to act like it was the most beautiful, precious gift she had ever received". In Her omniscience She knew!!! Amma knew that you were offering up the Ego. Check that one out! Amma has everything. Amma is full and has (personal selfish) desires whatsoever. Nevertheless She wishes to break us out of the penitentiary. Amma wishes to free Her children from the San Quenton of the unripe ego. What Mother wants her daughter locked up and confined? Even a common earthly Mother would hock her wedding ring to free her daughter from jail. What can be said of the Mother of Mothers. IMHO Amma is pleased when we offer the ego because we have taken a step (like the babies first steps) toward FREEDOM by offering the mango of egoity. Namah Shivaya Chitanand Tired of spam?
