Beautiful shiva temple of Darasuram

  I visited Darasuram which is at a distance of 5km from Kumbakonam.

 

  The temple is a must visit for all shiva devotees.  The temple at

tanjavur(Brihadeshwar) ,the temple at GangaiKondacholapuram and the

above  mentioned one at Darasuram (Airavateshwar) all form a series of

temples of similar architechtural style and importance.

 

Shiva is present at Darasuram in the name of airavateshwara and there

present all the nine planets in the temple with shanideva having a

seperate vigraha(statue) and all the other planets being present in the

lingam itself.

 

Lingam is very good and even the nasthika would get bhakthibhav on just

seeing lord shiva here.

 

Its a must visit..do not miss this shrine.

 

I wanna see as much the temples in entire india as I can in my life

time. So lets share information on various temples found through this
