Hemant says:

When do we really fast for Lord Nityananda prabhus appearence..normally 3

days after ekadasi...? this year only 2?

JPS says:

nityananda appears on trayodasi which is normally 2 days after ekadasi.

ekadasi, dvadasi, trayodasi. Sometimes an extra tithi comes in there and it

becomes 3 days after but that is unusual.

We fast upto noon on Nityananda Prabhus appearance.

Hemant says:

Oh, sorry my sitake, it is 2, but this year 1 only...we celebrating on

dvadasi, correct..will you be able to confirm later please/

JPS says:

sometimes a tithi disappears since a tithi is a lunar day which according to

the calendar sometimes is more then 24 hours and sometimes less. so if it

is less and starts right after sunrise and finishes before the next sunrise

then a tithi would disappear and the following tithi would be observed on

the next day. Whichever tithi is prevelant at sunrise is the one that is

usually observed.

I hope this helps your understanding of the tithi phenomena.

Your well wisher always,

Jayapataka Swami
