Guest guest
Dear prabhus and maharajas. Dandavat pranams. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. This is a response to the well intended but conspicuously naive devotee who has sent an anonymous letter to Kirtanananda: Eight years in the cell must help your spiritual life somehow This is a naive assumption. As some of the other prabhus have been saying, actions speak louder than words. His times are past and he is a mere shadow of himself, We should not underestimate a man who still has enough shakti left to wreak havoc in Srila Prabhupada's movement. Let him show his sincerity by addressing the GBC directly, and by writing open letters to his still infatuated-to-the-point-of-being-blind followers. I share Mahadyuti's concerns: What if he didn't even write that "apology" himself? Maybe it was a disciple trying to get him out of the proverbial "dog house". How come this apology doesn't match the previous reports of a devotee who personally went to see K but came back reporting that he had no sense of wrong doing. The 2 disciples the devotee took with him (to recant discipleship) instead came away re-confirming there allegiance! Is this a taste of what is to come--another nightmare for the GBC and the movement as confused devotees again gather around him? he is asking for forgiveness, people he offended should consider if they have the mercy to give it to him. Let us all join in showing mercy, when K instructs all his followers to help pay for the Turly case and the fund to assist the abused youth! Steps like this are the real test of his sincerity. Otherwise, talk is cheep. Of he owns real estate anywhere, he should sell it to pay for the case. Walk the talk. Notice that the devotees crying loudest for unconditional mercy and forgiveness are new people who know little about what K did to our movement and Srila Prabhupada's name! K is a major contributor to the weakness of Prabhupada's movement in North America today. The anti cult movement feeds like sharks off of ISKCON scandals, using every newspaper article to prove ISKCON is a dangerous cult. They have nation wide classes in public and private high schools and even universities warning about "dangerous cults" . They drag out all the New Vrindavan stuff with great zeal. Their preaching", by far, is more wide spread in America and Canada--even Europe--today than ISKCON'S!Unfortunately, all the nice devotees asking for "unconditional forgiveness" don't even know these things. However, I worked for five years in the BBT legal office, specializing in monitoring the anti-cult movement, their publications and propaganda. Let us see some money from K and his followers for the Turley case! Then and only then will we know K is serious. Guest guest
PAMRO AGTSP! > Then and only then will we know K is serious. i find myself unqualified to say anything on this issue as I am a new person in iskcon in compare to many senior devotees here so pl forgive me if I say something wrong. my question is, is it possible that his (K Swami) asking for forgiveness from Iskcon vaisnavas is a beginning from his side to eventually prove that he is serious? and if yes, can he be given a chance / inspired to speak up more? Srila Prabhupada says a lot about this in BG 9.30-31. Maybe someone can explain how to apply it in this case. Hare Krishna. ys, bbd
