Guest guest
Dear Vedic Experts, Namaste!!! To benefit the world, and to promote Sanatan Dharma, and to raise money for the PGA ( http://p-g-a.org ), and to make the authors famous...I am planning a big luxury book named "Sacred Gemology: Natural Hallowed Objects of Asia." If you see the web page at: http://www.richardshawbrown.com/mysticarticles/Sacred-Objects.html That list will be the Table of Contents. I will write some of the chapters (items) and other authors will contribute pics and texts on other objects. We need to cover them all. I will do ratnas and Shalagram Shila myself, and Kamal Sita Narayan will do the Chapter on Rudraksha, and Pt. Tata will do the Shankas, Govardhan, and rivers, Pt Amit of DevShoppe will cover many topics, including rivers I would like to invite any of you to write the Chapters on any other objects you would like to write (before then are reserved by others). Each chapter (object) will have the author's picture, name and contact. I expect about 6-9 different authors to cover all, or maybe less. Financially I'll have to expertly design the book myself and make it print ready, then I'll have to pay for the printing and shipping. There will be no money for the authors, only "kirti". As the book sells I take back my printing expenses. Any income beyond that will go toward printing the PGA books, mailings, etc. PGA expenses (including a secretary who assists me. The book will be hard bound coffee-table size, and will be full color with pics of every item. It will be expensive to print, even here in Bangkok, with heavy art paper and everything first class cover and binding.. Pt. Tata suggests us try to cover each topic with: 1. Some Scriptural references (without overdoing). 2. Spiritual/occult significance (ruling-associated Deity) 2. Folk lore & legends 3. Historic and social perspective, modern day use, customs etc. 4. Scientific data (like Turbinella pyrum, habitat etc.) 5. Photos 6. Current Legal Trade Status? (Where?) 7. Availability, priceing Please let me know what you all think about this project?
