Query on your Dasamsa class

Namaste Vistiji,

 

I have some questions on your Dasamsa lecture. Kindly

help me in understanding these concepts.

 

1) In Sanjayji's chart, why did you take Ketu as the

planet with higher longitude instead of Moon?

Shouldn't we take Ketu at 4d 15m instead of 25d 45m

because it is retrograde? That is the way we calculate

longitude for Rahu for chara karaka calculations.

Also, you said that Moon is stronger than Ketu because

it has chara karakatva. Now in that regard, Ketu is

always going to be weaker than all other planets when

involved in conjunctions, because Ketu does not have

chara karakatva. Does this mean that Ketu is always

weak? Also, I have not heard this principle for

judging strength before. So kindly illuminate me.

 

[Visti] Lets put this to the test. The stronger one will come first among

the professions. In this case Moon came first (beurocracy), then Ketu

(defense) so moon must be stronger in this case.

 

2) In George W Bush's chart, exalted Mars is in the

7th house. Even though it is in Marana karaka sthana,

Bush made a lot of money in buying a stake in a

baseball team (Texas Rangers) for cheap (600,000), and

then later selling it at a heavy profit (15 million).

Should this be attributed to exalted Mars in the 7th?

 

[Visti] I didn't know this. Excellent as this makes sense with Mars.

 

Also, Bush has debilitated 7th lord Saturn in the 10th

house. Most interestingly, so far, Bush has not made

much money in the oil business. He did try very hard

to establish himself in oil business, but he could not

succeed. He made some money here (more than what he

deserved according to many), but it is not nearly as

much as he could have made had he been successful as

an oil business man. So what does debilitated Saturn

tell us then? Do you think that his success in oil

business is yet to come? He will only be 62 when he

retires from white house.

 

[Visti] Your thinking is right. He has had some bad dasas which have

inhibited him and then sometimes he has earned a lot. His Rasi chart

indicates a lot of financial losses in the middle part of his life which we

can attribute to his failure in oil and his initial attempt at politics. The

last part of his life will be the most successful colored by Gajakesari and

AK-PiK yoga. I'm sure you can see why.
