Guest guest
Dear Wendy, Harry, Krishna and List, Another interesting note regarding Margaret Thatcher is BPHS gives: "The Sun in the 12th will confer a hundred-year life span on one born in Libra Lagna." This is interesting when considering Sun in 12H and Sun as Karaka for body/1H. Also because with Libra Lagna Sun owns 11H, which is badhaka house for Libra risings. Also this strength given to this Sun in this position and considering the following given in PL: "Externally Surya signifies those people or relationships in our life that are strongly related to royalty, power and the identity of the society. These are presidents, leaders and directors. Since the Sun is at the center of the solar system, controlling all the other grahas, it governs people with power or authority. On a smaller scale this could be a govern, mayor, and in the family environment the father. Surya represents those building that represent power and dignity, such as temples, mansions and palaces." "Physically Surya rules the aspects of the body that are most dominant in terms of control (the brain), the maintenance of life (heart) and maintaining the shape (bones). Surya rules the right eye." "Internally Surya represents our tendancy, ability or talent to act as a leader or authority." I saw this in BPHS as I was attempting to find out more information on the GrahaMalika Yoga. Guest guest
Dear Krishna and List, I've just found online what Sanivad Rahu means: "Rahu is like Saturn." This same website gives another author, K.K. Pathak, saying there is a yoga to be considered which is when Rahu is in 12H from Moon. The author states that this yoga is not in the classical literature. My thoughts are even considering we do not consider this as a yoga, have we noticed the results of this position of Moon/Rahu to be true. He is crediting an article in Astrological Magazine in February of 1977, written by Punya Priya, as having coined this placement as a yoga. The article, "A New Theory of Prediction" and Priya has named this yoga 'Maha Sakti Yoga'. He states that: "...It is true that the concept of Maha Sakti Yoga as propounded by Mr Punya Priya or Mr. D N Rao does not find mention in any classical text of Astrology." He then goes on to give his views of why still this yoga should be considered. My point of showing this is to show this was something apparently propounded by D Narsinga Rao as well. Which still does not mean we would give it the term of being a 'Yoga' - but as these astrologers have much experience, I am taking a look at this from the standpoint of just this placement in a chart of Rahu and Moon. Particular interest here due to this being the case in Margaret Thatcher's chart and particularly given Rahu in 10H. Pathak writes: "Punya Priya says that a person having this yoga is destined to go very far in life and progress in whatever field of activity he or she is engaged. Punya Priya further holds that Maha Sakti Yoga results in abundant courage and success in ones efforts." He also claims that although malefics in the 2H from the Moon are note necessary, they may add to the strength of this Moon/Rahu placement. Margaret Thatcher's chart has this as well with Sun and Mars in 2H from Moon. Pathak also states: ".It is a yoga of divine protection and protects one from dangers to life and career. It also gives one tremendous success in one's endeavours." And he also gives Mrs. Indira Gandhi's chart along with others in support of this. In Indira Gandhi's chart Rahu is in 8H, however Aquarius lords 10H. Have any of you taken notice of this placement? Guest guest
Dear List, Just to clarify the below statement: Pathak also states: ".It is a yoga of divine protection and protects one from dangers to life and career. It also gives one tremendous success in one's endeavours." And he also gives Mrs. Indira Gandhi's chart along with others in support of this. In Indira Gandhi's chart Rahu is in 8H, however Aquarius lords 10H. Pretty much a direct conflict with the statement given of divine protection from dangers to life and career, and then offering Indira Gandhi's chart. At the website these are not offered together as I have done here. However, still this is a complete conflict with what the author has written and then offering Gandhi's chart. I am though curious if any of you have noticed any kind of special placement with this Moon/Rahu. Also perhaps as I mentioned Gandhi's Rahu in 8H gives more the results she experienced as far as assassination?? Certainly wasn't protective to either life or career. Gandhi was assassinated on Oct 31, 1984, and had just commenced her Rahu antardasa period days before in SA/MA/RA. Best wishes, Patrice _____ _____
Guest guest
- Dear Patrice, Just read your mail and thought I would give you a chart where this combo exists. Might help in researching the effects of this yoga. d.o.b 6 July, 1936 t.o.b 03-15 a.m. p.o.b Lyallpur ( now in Pakistan) Rahu is in the 8th House, Moon in Capricorn 9H and Saturn in 10 H. The effects in this chart are not at the same level as in Margaret Thatcher's life(political career) but, divine protection is definitely noticed. The native has come out unharmed from serious life threatening situations many a times. Each time it has seemed as if there was a protecting hand somewhere. And everytime it seemed as a miracle. I don't know if this is what the article quoted meant. But divine protection is noticed. Certainly wasn't protective to either life or career. Gandhi was assassinated on Oct 31, 1984, and had just commenced her Rahu antardasa period days before in SA/MA/RA.// According to the data I have, Indira Gandhi's SA/RA perid starts in July 1984. And, hence she was assacinated during SA/RA period. In my observation, Rahu clearly plays a role (being the dasha lord or the bhukti lord) in most cases of violet deaths. I have also observed that this rule is applicable for deaths during alpayu/madhyayu periods and not during purnayu period. Guest guest
Dear Krishna, Thank you for this correction. I had taken the birth data off a web site which was clearly incorrect. Just looked at Wilhelm's Core Yogas, and he also gives the time you've shared below. Yes, this puts her in SA/RA for the assassination. Thanks again for your note. It makes sense as you've observed, with Rahu playing a role in most cases of violent deaths. Interesting as well that you have observed Rahu plays no role in deaths of those living the longest lives. Guest guest
-- Indira Gandhi had Rahu in 6H, unless my data is wrong and additionally, no malefic in 2nd from Moon. Guest guest
Dear Patrice, //Interesting as well that you have observed Rahu plays no role in deaths of those living the longest lives.// What I meant was that even if Rahu is involved in a purnayu death, the death will not be a violent one. One example immediately comes to my mind is Nehru, father of Indira Gandhi. He died during Rahu/Budha period.
