fainting in the heat

I am trying to determine what is making me faint when I get out in the

hot weather. I have always had trouble with the heat. It is not like

the vertigo, but I start seeing black and get very dizzy. It goes away

eventually. Motion makes it better if I get into cool place. I also

get it when I stand up after sitting for awhile. I am currently

desperately trying to lose weight in hopes that will help. It does not

happen when exercising. I have a stent in my heart, but have had no

major symptoms lately. I went home and ran up the stairs and checked

blood pressure and sugar and they were fairly normal--the bp and pulse

were quick from going up the stairs and the sugar was consistent with

whatever I had eaten last--not low. I had something similar after some

medical tests once and the doctor said it was a vaso-vagal reflex? Is

there a way to make it better?
