Guest guest Report post Posted October 4, 2000 > It would be nice if these kinds of claims could be substantiated by some > references. My friend suffers from liver damage. Since he never drunk any alcohol (really!), nor taking drugs, but was only drinking Coke, as his only beverage for years, his doctor, after researching other possibilities, and family health record, concluded that liver is damaged by chemicals in Coke. There is no official statement about that. His doctor just told him that, but didn't write it down in paper. My friend was advised to stay away from industry-made drinks. It was more than ten years ago. Just consider, young boy at that time, liver already damaged. Of course, for you,and for all others that might read this, this will be second hand statement, and hardly taken seriously without written proof from doctor, but since my friend told me that, I believe he told the truth. I don't claim any science in this "proof", but it is at least indicative of possible harm hidden in soft drinks. Hopefully, there is no need to make them our "favorites". There is so much nectar in home-made drinks offered to Krishna with sincerity. Your humble servant, Venu-pani Das
