Guest guest
Hi All Would the presence of SUN and VENUS (not combust) in the 11th house of a native impact the elder brother of the native. Will it be favourable or not. Can anyone advise. Should we consider Mars also for reading about ones elder brother. Please advise. Regards Anoop Tired of spam? Guest guest
Dear Anoop, I have not seen any convincing evidence of combustion in the absence of other negative influences causing any significant dent in a natal reading. When sun is malefic and joins another planet and afflicts it, that is not due to combustion, but because sun is malefic! I would lean towards jupiter being the significator for elder brother as opposed to mars. Some jyotishis opine that sun could be utilized as a significator for elder brother, since elder brother is considered as one of the five father figures (father, teacher, father- in-law, elder brother, paternal uncle -- if memory serves me rightly). Guest guest
Hi. This is a significant thing coming from an astrologer of your repute. Well, from my perspective, I wish it was true as I have Mercury and Sun conjunct in the first house (Taurus). However, I guess, going by whatever I have read in the astrological books ( and merely the astrological books as I haven't reached a stage where I can do my own research), my rational mind goads me to conclude that combustion does have its effect. And if the planet is deeply combusted, it behaves like a malefic. For the sake of my understanding, can you illustrate some examples where the (benefic) planet gave its full effect even though it was deeply combusted. However, if you think it would be inconvenient to you, you may please ignore this respect. By the way, what city do you live in Canada? Have a good weekend. Guest guest
Dear friend Manoj-ji, Your question is valid and perhaps we will get to your request about looking at case studies. But before that let us examine something, without hang-ups. You say that you have only read about combustion in books and have not done a lot of research using charts. And yet you say you are convinced 'rationally' that combustion adversely influences a planet! Please explain the reasoning that convinces you so. If I recall, books, old and new also state that venus and even more so mercury are free of the astangata dosha (combustion) because they are only a maximum of 28 or 45 degrees away from sun and being inferior planets are likely to combust more often. They are like the cooks who work near the oven all the time and learn to tolerate the heat. Would you say that is logical and rational? I truly hope you do! Please be very careful when using logic and rationality to get convinced about astrological tenets. The astrological indicators may not be working necessarily within the same realm of logic that we acquire for our daily existence. How else would one rationally convince oneself that sun can combust saturn as strongly as it does mercury and the two are miles apart, literally! The sun hardly reaches saturn, astronomers and astrophysicists tell us and show pictures to prove that! I am tickled pink by your genuinely kind words of praise for being 'typed' as a reputed astrologer but how did you get to that conclusion? Rationally, again?? :-) RR , Manoj Sharma <manojsharma662000> wrote: > > Hi. > This is a significant thing coming from an astrologer > of your repute. Guest guest
Shri Ranjan ji, I have similiar observations on combustion. But, it makes Venus weak for contrast in their attributes (satvik / rajsik). and if Sun is malefic for specific lagna, then will harm the venus and the house where it is positioned. In my limited experience, I have observed, sun damaging the marital happiness in 7th house, if with venus and sun being malefic. Else, it will just render venus weak. Manoj ji, Combustion has got nothing to do with the positive / negative effects in absolute sense. and even when moon is close to sun, it will not make moon malefic, but will make it cruel ('krur') not ashubha ("malefic"). Ramkrishna Paramhansa had moon and sun together, but his spiritual pursuation were not damaged. In my observation, mercury do not become weakened; on the contrary (being 'napunsak' planet, it behave per the attributes of sun. regards / Prafulla , "crystal pages" <rrgb> wrote: > > Dear friend Manoj-ji, > > Your question is valid and perhaps we will get to your request about > looking at case studies. > > But before that let us examine something, without hang-ups. Guest guest
Thanks for your post. Your observations have been noted. Meanwhile, I will be awaiting case studies from you. Guest guest
Dear friend Manoj ji, And in the meantime, if you run into a chart where you are confident that the misery can only be explained by combustion, please do not feel shy about sharing it with everyone ;-) RR , Manoj Sharma <manojsharma662000> wrote: > > Thanks for your post.
