Here are few selected Bhajans of the Great Poetess and devotee Meera. daras bin dookhan lage nain! daras bin dookhan laage nain. jab te tum bichhre piy pyaare, kabahu na paayo chain. sabd sunat meree chhatiyaan kanpe, meethhe laage bain. ek tak takee panth nihaaroo,bhai chhmaasee rain. birah bithaa kason kahu sajanee, bah gayee karbat ain. Meeraa ke Prabhu kab hon miloge,dukh metan sukh den. *daras bin -* without seeing You;* dookhan laage nain- *my eyes are burning with ailment; *jab te - *since that moment;* bichhrai-* parted;* piv pyaare-*dear one;* * *kabahu na payo chain-* I have never been at rest;* sabad sunat - *listen to Thy words;* chhatia-*heart; * kaapai-*shakes or beats;* meethhaa - *sweet;* laagai bain - *Thy voice;*tak takee - *gazing with a fixed look; *panth - *path ;* nihaaroo - *look at; *bhai chhamaasee rain-*night continuuing six months long; *birah bithhaa - *pain of separation;* kaa so kahu sajanee - *to whom should I tell my friend; *bah gayee karbat ain - *saw through a cut of my heart;*Mira ke Prabhu- *O Lord of Meera; *kab hon miloge-*when will You meet me; *dukh metan-*to destroy pain;*sukh dain-*to confer joy *patian main kaiso likhoon, likhyoi na jaai?* *patiyan main kaiso likhoon, likhyoi na jaai?* *baat kahoon moohai baat na aavai, nain rahyaa bhar laai.* *kalam dharat mero kar kanpat hai, hirdo rahyo ghabrai.* *kisbidh charan kamal main gahayo, sab hee anga tharraay.* Mira ke Prabhu Hari avinaasee, charan rahoon laptaai ** *How can I write a letter?* *when I am unable to write?* *I can not speak any thing,* *when I want to say some thing,* *my eyes get flooded with tears.* *As I hold up the pen, my hand trembles,* *and my heart puzzles.* *How can I hold up Thy lotus feet!* *when I can 't stand even,* *as my entire body staggers!* *Mira begs from her Lord Krishna,* *keep a place for her,* *under Thy lotus feet.* ** Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
