Om Nahah Sivaya,

"His own story will be interesting to anyone on the alternative

health "road." Dr. Fuhrman was injured as a young man. After a year

with no results from orthodox American medicine, he rejected

experimental surgery and looked for answers in other forms of

healing. He remembered his arthritic father restored his health with

fasting and that led him to Dr. Herbert Shelton's Health School in

San Antonio. After a fast of 46 days, Dr. Fuhrman could walk again.

A year later he placed third in the World Professional Figure

Skating Championships!"

I don't remember now whether I actually heard it or ASSUMED he

fasted on water alone because that's what Dr. Shelton specialized in

and because that's also what Dr. Fuhrman does now with some

patients; for some serious heart disease with poor results from

orthodox medicine, Dr. Fuhrman has helped restore health with

medically supervised water fasts; he used to have the patient stay

at his home for close supervision and encouragment.

If Jesus fasted without water, then forgive me for making the

comparison.

Joel Fuhrman, MD is not into a spiritual path like we are; he is

just a warm hearted person with an excellent intellect who has

helped over 20,000 patients restore their health in a safe way.

At a couple of his free public lectures that I attended, Dr. Fuhrman

did not talk about his fasting; will try to find out if more

specifics are available.
