Om Namah Sivaya

“He is truly pious whose heart and soul are wholly dedicated to God. Truly pious is he who has renounced ‘woman and gold’. The truly pious man never views woman in the ordinary worldly light. He always remains at distance from them, and if they happen to come near, he looks on them as his mother and shows respect to them. He thinks constantly of God, and serves all creatures knowing that He resides in all. These are the general traits of the truly pious.”

“A man may live in a mountain cave, smear his body with ashes, observe fasts, and practice austere discipline; but if his mind dwells on worldly object, on ‘woman and gold’, I say, ‘Shame on him!’ But I say that a man is blessed indeed who eats, drinks, and roams about, but who keeps his mind free from ‘woman and gold’.”

(verse 1553): Lord is Like Gentle Rain

Who seeks Finite Truth

They His friends are;

Who does not seek Him

They but know the Worldly Men’s Misery-Way,

Enveloped in darkness of bondage

In vain shall they be born again and again;

Who seeks Path True

To them, the Lord is like richly laden clouds

That drops gentle rain of Heavenly Grace.

(verse 1555): Lord is Within You

The Only Being, the Eternal Being

Within you He dwells;

When you say so,

These ignorant men laugh low;

Poor forks! If they but seek Him in prayer within

Then shall they meet Him – the Peerless One.

(verse 1556): Who Pursued False Faiths

They wake not to Inner Light of Aum within;

And joy not in ego-effaced bliss ensuring

They seek not of the end of recurring birth and death,

Lo! They pursued the unending path of contending faiths,

And stood forlorn, for ever lost in faith false.
