Guest guest
Hi, I am new to this group. I began learning jyotish just recently, although, was extensively into western astrology. I have a question about a chart that has Mercury and Venus in the 7th house in Pisces. I am totally confused to how to interpet this. It looks like an exalted Venus with debilitated Mercury, the Lagna ruler. However, Venus is sending a positive aspect to Lagna, and being an exalted the aspect event stronger. However, Venus sends this very strong aspect into its sign of debilitation. On the other hand, debilitated Mercury send aspect into its exaltation sign. How do I interpret that? I am very confused... Guest guest
Hello to You: Congratulations on your new vedic studies. You'll love it. I switched over after doing western astrology for over 25 years and I've never been happier in my work. Be dedicated and patient in learning and you'll be amply rewarded, and your clients will love it after you reorient them to your new system; vedic is an entirely different language and it takes awhile to get used to. To answer your question: There's a situation called 'Neecha Banga'--the Cancellation of Debilitation. When a planet is in its debilitated sign (for example, Mercury in Pisces) it is possible for that planet to get cancellation of debilitation by certain juxtapositions in the chart. If a planet gets cancellation of debilitation, it will cease to act in a malefic or disastrous way. Some texts say that if cancellation is present, the debilitated planet may act as powerfully as an exalted planet. This, however, is rarely seen; a planet that achieves cancellation of debilitation is likely to act as a neutral or slightly malefic planet. Here are the most important situations which bring about cancellation of debilitation: 1) If the debilitated planet is in a quadrant (that is, the 1H, 4H, 7H or 10H) from the ascendant or the Moon. 2) If the lord of the sign that the debilitated planet is in, is in a quadrant from the ascendant or the Moon. 3) If the planet that is exalted in the sign that the debilitated planet is in, is in a quadrant from the ascendant or the Moon. (Ex: Mercury is debilitated in Pisces. Venus gets exaltation in Pisces. If Venus is in a quadrant from the Moon or ascendant, Mercury gets cancellation of debilitation. Again, the quadrant houses are 1, 4, 7, and 10) 4) If the debilitated planet is in its exaltation sign in the navamsa chart. Guest guest
Hi The information given below is really helpful as I am always worried about my career because of debilitated Saturn in Aries which is also my Lagna. I have seen downfall in my professional life last year although everybody was happy from my work but suddenly the unit got closed as MNC decided to windup the operation. My DOB is 18th Jan 1970 and time is 12.30 noon and place of birth is Amritsar. I have consulted some astrolgers regarding same but not convinced from their replies. Please help me as I am really having sleepless nights.
