Guest guest
Dear all, Can anybody please tell me, what are the factors one should look into if one has to predict whether a native will receive higher education like PhD and also for scholorships. As far as I have read, in Siddhamsa chart, 2nd house is for higher studies like getting a doctorate. Pls. correct me. Radhe Krishna. Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Guest guest
Dear Radhika Madam For Higher education like PhD, IIT, Post Doctorate,MD, MS, etc 9th house and thier occupants ,lords, aspect and thier positions in N.amsa indicates higher education. And 11th house shows fulfillment of the same i.e.completion. Normally I have observed in several charts that natives during the conjoined period of 9 &11 higher education and completion takes place. Infact I have taken up " Higher education leading to PhD " as thesis for my astro postgraduation course. Mars & Mercury play major role,( Ofcourse no planet works in isolation ) Strong venus shows PhD in Chemistry and analyitcal sciences. If you are interested , I can share some more as per KP Principles. Guest guest
Dear Radhikaji: Generally for assessing educational attainments the following houses have to be considered: 2nd house (Vaak sthaanam), 4th house (Vidyaa sthaanam), 5th house (Pragnyaa sthaanam) and 9th house (dharma/ nipunathwa sthaanam) as per the teachings of Guruji Dakshinamoorthiji. While generally 4th house stands for basic education (a normal level of healthy education as per prevalent standards of society; for example in the 70's being a graduate was considered to be a good qualification while now-a-days being a graduate is not a big deal at least in cities!), 9th house is to be checked for higher educational prospects in the horoscope. Yes, your understanding is correct. Among the varga charts, 2nd house in siddhaamsa is to be analyzed for higher studies like Doctorate dissertations. 5th house - the house of intelligence should also be strong due to good placement of its ruler and disposition of planets in that house for good success in academics. 2nd house denotes ability to put forth one's views in a logical manner which is very important for theses. Also, 2nd house denotes acquisition of money...probably the connection between 9th house and 2nd house will indicate the possibility of getting scholarships, etc. Suka naadi says "A person Generally, if a person is engaged in Doctorate theses in which analytical skills are required, Rahu in the 3rd house has proved to be a blessing in that regard. It is noteworthy that 3rd house is "bhavaath bhaavam" for the 2nd house. People who have malefics in the 3rd house have a unique way of approaching and analyzing things which makes them stand out from the crowd. For instance, Guruji Dakshinamoorthiji has Mars in his 3rd house, and members of this forum know how his views literally electrify the forum often. Guruji has a rare ability to "read between the lines" and deduce information and hidden messages from almost any classic - be it religious, mantrik, or astrological! Similarly, I know of Dr. k.Parthasaarathy - now he is no more among us - the eminent astrologer from Chennai who had Saturn and Rahu in the 3rd house. The way he used to analyze charts was wonderful.....he will beautifully unfold the life-script as if he had seen it with his own eyes! Benefics in the 3rd house usually make a person docile and averse to debates and arguments, while malefics in the 3rd bestow the person with excellent courage both in expression and deeds. Guest guest
Dear Mohanraaamji: That was wonderfully written.....Generally most astrolgers restrict their analysis for education to the 4th and 9th houses, and a few rare ones bring in the 5th house - the house of intelligence. Still fewer are the astrologers who combine the effects of the 2nd house and 3rd house for such delineations. But, you have missed another house which sometimes gives a clue - the 11th house. Though it is generally known that 11th house signifies friendships, gains, elder siblings, etc., sometimes the planets in the 11th house can indicate clues regarding education as you will understand on reading the nadi astrological combinations I shall furnish at the end of the post...... If the lord of the 2nd house is in the 9th or 11th house from the ascendant, it blesses the native concerned with profundity of thought and clarity of expression. These people have excellent memories and can memorize things that they hear even once. This obviously can help when a person is engaged in research where lot of people may have to be interviewed, and lessons based on that interactions have to be documented in the thesis. The lord of 5th house in 5th, 9th, 10th, or 11th houses will bless the native with shrewdness and ripe knowledge. These persons know intuitively how to go about their research and their research methodology will be flawless. Now, I will also give some combinations culled from nadi system of predictions...... If the 3rd house lord occupies a movable sign while his dispositor along with the lord of the ascendant is in an angle, the native will be endowed with wide fame and abundant learning. If the ascendant is occupied by the lords of the 2nd and 4th and aspected by Mercury, one will attain a very high position in the matter of learning. If Mars occupies an angle with reference to Mercury while Moon is with Venus, the native will be engaged in research on ancient branches of study (may be Indology, Egyptology, Theology, Archeology, Fossil studies, etc.). The native will achieve fame through high learning if Mercury joins Venus in the 2nd house and these planets are aspected by Jupiter. If Moon joins the above combinations in the 2nd house, the results are still enhanced. One will be skillful in catechism endowed with high learning if Jupiter is in the 11th house aspecting both the 9th house lord and Mercury. Now, a very special combination to be checked if young children have speech afflictions......Maybe, you have a genius under your care! If Moon is in conjunction with Saturn in the 12th house, the native may have stammering in young age. But, if Jupiter occupies the 11th house in such a horoscope, the defect will be rectified (either due to speech therapy or Divine Intervention brought about by remedies) and that person will become an expert in composing poems of the highest order at the drop of a hat. (Presumably Saint Kumaragubarar who was dumb in his earlier years but became a great composer of religious literature in later years by Grace of Lord Muruga and Saint Mukha kavi who was dumb but was relieved of his defect by the Grace of Goddess Kaamaakshi and composed Mukha Pancha Sathi should have had this combination!). Of course, there are countless combinations given for expertise in various branches of learning in the naadi works....what I have given here is only a tip of the ice-berg. Blessed be. Pandit. Guest guest
Dear Sh Balaji, What is the role of D9 Saturn in 9th house for the higher education. I am very curious as my higher education has been the bane of my life with repeated and continuous breaks. Inspite of working hard, usually I make some wrong administrative decision or take on too much workload or miss a critical deadline and it all goes down the tube. I think it's more of a PR failure than anything else on the whole. Since dealing with Professors I either become too shy sometimes or come on very strong. The Golden mean usually escapes me. The D9 saturn is also in his own house capricorn. Jup is debilitated in natal but in pisces in D9. Merc is atmakaraka ( 29 Libra) , so I believe that 'old age' status means rather not so good support from it in education endeavours? I could perhaps write a book about the possible mistakes one can make in higher education since I have made almost all of them. My details are on some other threads, but writing here again for ready reference: 20th oct 73, 11.22 pm, Vadodara, Guj, IND, (22n18, 73 e12) For now I had been done with 3 sems of my masters when some things happened once again. Need one more sem to graduate. WHat do you feel are the chances of my reentry and a final completion of the degree. In the Chaturvimsamsha Chart, not sure what division that is, but a report refers to it as the Education Chart, Lagna is Pisces, Sun is in 8th, Jup is in 12th and SAturn is conjunct to Moon. Is that of any significance. ( Is that the same as Siddhamsa,D 24, since they look very alike). Any insights from you will be extremely useful and much appreciated. Guest guest
Dear BalaJi I am sorry for interrupting in the middle of the thread. I will be highly thankful to you if you can look at my horoscope and can let me know about my higher education. It will be interesting to know this.
