While we often think we are aware of all that is happening in our lives,

sometimes the card we choose regarding the Present provides deeper insight than

we are able to tap into on our own. Carefully consider the Tarot's following

assessment of your present, and see what the cards are trying to teach you about

situations occurring in your life right now.

The Sun

Approximately 75% people who pick The Sun in the second position say that it

accurately matches what's happening at the present time. The Sun represents the

primary influence on the current state of your life. Right now, in your present,

you may be experiencing a period of pleasure and carefree contentment. You may

have freedom to move about as you choose. Getting this card in this position may

be a sign that you are enjoying your successes, and the happiness that comes

from within. Beware of isolation and loneliness. Instead, try to accept life as

it is, and let love and friendship be yours.

The Sun is card twenty in the Major Arcana, symbolizing contentment. In this

card, a great sun shines down on a boy riding a horse. The boy holds the red

banner of life in his left hand, symbolizing the conscious lessons that you have

successfully learned. The four sunflowers represent water, fire, earth, and

air—the four elements of the Tarot that are represented in the Minor Arcana. The

horse signifies freedom to move freely toward your goals. The Sun brings

happiness in partnerships and pleasure in life. This card is a sign of success

across the board in life, and a mastering of your talents.

There are a number of ways this card could be playing out right now. Some

possibilities include:

You may be experiencing a particularly pleasurable time in your love life.

This may mean that your relationship is thriving, or your dating life is

bringing you happiness.

You may be enjoying financial successes, such as a healthy savings account or

a well-paying job.

In the areas of health and well-being, you may be feeling particularly

content and energetic.

Understanding our past decisions and situations can help us derive more from the

lessons life is trying to teach us. It's never too late to acknowledge the

truths of our past and bring that wisdom into our present and future.

The Magician

72% of people who are dealt The Magician in the first position say that it

accurately represents their past. The Magician exerted a significant impact on

your past. This means that at some point in your past, you were guided by a full

and unleashed creativity. You were likely very fruitful in your

self-expressions, no matter what your outlet, and you had the wherewithal to

turn your greatest ideas into reality. Your intuitive approach to life, and the

reactions it elicited from others, brought you to the point you're at today.

The second card in the Major Arcana, the Magician is creative and imaginative.

In this card, the Magician points his ward toward the heavens and his other hand

toward the earth. His tools are laid out on the table—a cup, a sword, a wand,

and a pentacle (five-pointed star)—representing the suits in the Minor Arcana.

The infinity sign hovers over his head, representing the never-ending flow of

life. The red of the roses symbolize passion, and the white of the lilies

represent intellect. The Magician is a sign that you can create your own

reality, and that something exciting is developing. With this card, if you ask

for what you need on your path to reaching your full potential, you may receive

it.

This card may have affected the overall tenor of your life, or just a particular

area. Following are a few possibilities of how you experienced these influences

in your past:

You may have been able to relate to your family members creatively,

influencing your family's way of doing things with your unique approach to life.

In your social life, you may have enjoyed relationships in which you

connected with other creative people.

You may approached your love life intuitively, trusting your gut instincts

despite the views of others or logical assessments.

Now that the Tarot has offered its insight into your past and your present, it's

time to look forward into the world of what's yet to happen. Read on to see what

the cards predict for your near future.

Knowing what may be coming up in our future allows us to prepare ourselves for

the unexpected. The card that represents your future will reveal which lessons

are coming up next in your life. You may learn that you're about to enter into a

particularly fruitful or easy time, or the cards may predict that you're about

to be confronted with the opportunity to learn some of life's more challenging

lessons. We each have lessons to learn, and if we avoid them, the cards tell us

that they will simply reappear until they are addressed. When life lessons come

your way, allow the cards' insight to guide your way as you work through these

challenges. Keep in mind that if you successfully learn your lessons, you can

then move on to new ones.

The Empress

This card is the strongest indicator of what your future will hold. Your

future, as it currently stands, is represented by the third card you chose. The

Empress is a sign that a cycle of great abundance is coming your way. In some

area of your life, you'll receive the comfort and care you've been longing for,

and peace and contentment will be yours. When an opportunity presents itself,

take initiative and the Empress will lead you into a time of great prosperity

and allow you to forge a connection to your higher self.

The Empress is card four in the Major Arcana. In this card, the Empress has

twelve stars on her crown, representing each of the Zodiac signs. Her

heart-shaped shield symbolizes the planet Venus' resonant love and affection.

the forest surrounding her. This card represents abundance and great happiness.

The Empress is Mother Nature, representing fertility, a thriving romantic

relationship, and life contentment. She is your nurturing, mothering side,

bringing you comfort and peace.

More than any other step of life's journey, this card represents the lessons you

must learn and the experiences in store for you in your upcoming karmic destiny.

This may impact you in any number of ways, including:

A romantic relationship that will give you nurturing and contentment when you

need it most.

A project or job that will allow you to have more room to show your unique

talents and achieve the success you deserve.

The resolution of a conflict with a family member that will bring you

newfound peace.

Versions of Tarot images have been traced back over 15,000 years to ancient

Egyptian hieroglyphics, the Hebrew Kabbalah, and several other countries and

cultures including China.

The Tarot deck consists of 78 cards in all, including the Major Arcana, used on

this test, and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards that

reveal each step on life's path. The Minor Arcana is comprised of the remaining

56 cards in the deck, and pertain to the everyday events in life. Not unlike a

regular deck of playing cards, the Minor Arcana are divided into four suits; in

this case, the suits are wands, swords, cups, and pentacles. Each suit has four

face cards and ten numbered cards.

In every Tarot reading there is a reader and a seeker — in this case, Tickle is

the reader, and you are the seeker, or person asking the question of the cards.

One person can also serve both roles if they choose to do their own Tarot

reading. The Tarot reader places the cards in a particular spread: in this case,

Tickle used the Three-Card Spread of Past, Present, and Future. There are dozens

of other spreads, which reveal multiple aspects about life.

Psychologist Carl Jung claimed that all human experience can be categorized into

common archetypes, or universal situations or images. In his studies of the

Tarot and other occult practices, he found that the images used revealed

universal archetypes. The Tarot uses these images to help us tap into our

unconscious thoughts and feelings.

While the Tarot is based more on mysticism and chance than science, Tickle was

able to test how often users received accurate readings through statistical

analysis of a sample population. Tickle analyzed the readings that over 2,200

users received using Tickle's online Tarot survey, allowing us to gauge how

accurate the Tarot cards were in relation to the actual lives of test-takers.
