Bhakti and Jnana

Dear friends,

Bharatji is probably indicating atma jnana, where in the knowledge

about the soul/innerself initiates bhakti- total surrender.

My humble opinion is that while Gnana in terms of knowledge- of

scriptures, rituals etc is conditional and subject to reasoning,

questions and logic, Bhakti is unconditional, unquestioning and is

total surrender. No questions asked.

NAMASKAR to all of friends and learned astrologers

I am not new to this amazing group but I discontinued to converse since long

time. I am an astrologer but I think Vedic Science is like oceans of knowledge

which needs a strong, clean and thorough brain to make repeated dips into the

oceans to gather the extracts of vedas. I am well enjoying what is being

discussed in this group especially about Bhakti.

I am very well in accord with the views of Srinivas(Smadavi) that Bhakti

is "LOOSING ONES VERY EXISTENCE". A bhakt looses his AHAMKAR when he falls in

love of deity. And loosing the state of AHAMKAR makes it possible to feel the

oneness with the deity and in more advanced states oneness with the whole of

universe and feeling the EXISTENCE of PARAM TATWA.

Whereas Jnana moves towards disolution through a logical plane of thoughts to

move towards the same goal.

That is my concise statement about BHAKTI.

Thanks and good wishes to all of you

Vishal

Namaste Lakhsmi ji,

As mentioned in Yoga Vashishtha,Patarta to go on Gayan Marg, comes

from

Bhakti marg. Some persons start their journey on bhakti mard, when their bhakti

deepens, they transfer to the gayan marg,as was done by Aadi Guru Sankaracharya.

They are liberated and do not take re-birth.Those who keep on going on Bhakti

Marg, after death they also donot take re-birth.They live in the Dham of their

Devta,viz.

Go lok,Shiv lok, etc. When the Day of Brahma ends, this whole creation (saristy)

ends too,at that time, all such souls who live with varios Devtas, are brought

togeather to

Brahma ji himself deliver them GAYAN,and these souls too.who have come through

Bhagdti marg are liverated. There had been very rare persons, like King

Janak,who

livarated through Gayanmarg, without going on Bhatimarg. These are only

exceptions.

I have gathered this opinion after

studyingYogVashishtha,VivekChudaMani,Abhdhoot Geeta and sevral other such books.

With regards

Namaste Pandit ji,

Sorry for intruding upon the discussion. But, I am truly perplexed

by your statement that bhakti marga

> is chosen only by those people who cannot do self-less service nor

> have any knowledge to illuminate others.

Is Hanuman weak? He's the Fearless One most sought after by every

one for protection from all tamasic forces.

Does He lack knowledge? He's the navama brahma and is highly

learned, his Guru being none other than Surya Bhagavan....the

original self-less giver of Light.

He always remained the epitome of self-less service, whether it was

rendered to Sugriva or Sri Rama.

Hanuman personifies Bhakti and had proved that he could remain

undefeated even by Sri Rama.

Tyagaraja, Ramadas, Pothana, Meera Bai etc were great bhaktas who

had to suffer a great deal too because of their attachment to God.

If they were weak of heart, i don't think they would have gone

through all that. I am sure, ith your knowledge, you'd know of many

more such people. As Bharat ji observed all spiritual paths require

great patience and persistent courage...in Baba's words.. Shraddha

aur Saburi.

If God had blessed even rakshasas, it is because they were also

great bhaktas...because bhakti, unlike jnana, is not discriminating

or judgemental. In Telugu Bhagavatam it is written that even if one

thinks of God...paga naina (with hatred), vaga naina (with pain),

preethi naina (with love), praana bheethi naina (with fear), it is

sufficient to ensure His mercy.

God is Mother, He is forever looking for ways to make us feel loved

and cherished. He also punishes, if that is the karma we deserve by

our actions. But the punishment is also born out of Love.

Please forgive me if i have sounded harsh anywhere.

Regards,

Lakshmi
