Guest guest
Dear Shri. Sundeep: As Shri. Sai Kumar has rightly remarked, the two mantras you have written are not contradictory and hence these can be chanted simultaneously. But, one point I would like to emphasize is......consistency with the practice and choice of mantra is the key to attaining success in mantra shastra. When you have had the intuitive urge of chanting a mantra, you should start chanting it.....then when again your intuition urges to chant another mantra.....you can chant the new mantra also....but, this should be IN ADDITION to the original mantra which you have been all along chanting. Maybe, you can slightly reduce the number of repetitions of the earlier mantra, but, still you should never really leave one mantra and start with a newer mantra. Sometimes it so happens, just when you are about to attain siddhi in a particular mantra, yoga maayaa may operate on your conscious and delude you from chanting the original mantra. It will be almost like digging 15 feet in the ground when the water level is 16 feet, then abandoning it....and digging at another place where also water is there at 16 feet only. If you dig for just 1 more foot in the old place you can hit water; if you change your place, you have to dig 16 more feet! Ofcourse, once you have dug that extra foot in the old place, you may still dig another 16 feet pit to strike another water source. In this way you are at a double advantage, is it not? May Lord Medha Dakshinamoorthi guide you. All the best. Blessed be. Pandit. It is a variation of another Prasidha Mantra i.e. Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya. > > They do not contradict with each other in any manner, so you are free to recite both of them. > > Hope this helps. > > Senior Gurus on the list, please feel free to correct my imperfections. > > Regards, > > Sai > > vedicastrostudent <vedicastrostudent wrote: > > Dear all, > A long time ago (2003), I had this compelling urge to listen/recite > the mantra "Om Namah Shivaya".
