Please, don't send me all this mails, because I understand nothing about Vedic

Dear Imranji,

Thank you for your response. I had lost all hopes of ever getting a response

to my query. When we are supposed to discuss matters of general interest there

is no reciprocal interest shown.

In the September 2005 issue of the Astrological Magazine, there was a write up

about Denial of marriage. The writer classifies the following:

Fruitful: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces

Semi-fruitful: Taurus, Libra and Acquarius

Semi-barren: Aries, Sagittarius and Capricorn

Barren: Gemini, Leo and Virgo

He states that we are to take all the planets including shadowy planets Rahu,

Ketu and Mandi. If the majority of planets are in fruitful and semi-fruitful

signs, then the chances of marriage are good. If 2/3 of the factors are so

placed, it is almost certain marriage will take place. If the converse factors

are stronger, then marriage is not possible.

First, I wanted to know whether assigning the rasis as above has any support

in classical literature. My study of some of the literature that I have has not

turned up any reference. I would like to hear your views.

Also, the discussions here have not brought up anything about the Fruitful,

Semi-fruitful, Semi-barren and Barren signs. So, I am left wondering whether

this classification is like the Kala Sarpa Yoga classification which has no

reference in classical literature.

Hope learned astrologers and Gurus would enlighten us.

Thank you.

David

Dear Imran,

I checked my data bank of delayed/denied marriages but

could not find much support to the theory.

dear friends

cancer and pisces are two signs where jupiter and venus gets exalted

who are the karakas for marriage. generally placement of benefic

planets (especially jupiter and venus) in these signs is considered

good in all charts. to me bhava is more important for or denial of

marriage and not this rasi theory.

other members may share any sources if any that lead us to believe

classification of all signs in these categories of baren, semi-

barren, semi-fruitful and fruitful.

even the DAKM (Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha) classification of all

bhavas is also not as simple as it looks for judging a horoscope.

with best wishes
