Ishta devata - upaasanaa devatas- (To Ms. Nalini)

Dear Ms. Nalini:

 

When your mind has been attracted by a spiritual personality or a

Divine Form, you need not take astrological help for finding out your

upaasaana devatas. Spritually evolved souls continue to Bless

aspirants who seek them out even after their leaving the physical

body. When an aspirant has placed complete faith in a Guru-form,

whoever it is, Divine Grace assumes that form and gets channelised via

that form to Guide that aspirant. So, Mother of Aurobindo Ashram will

definitely continue to guide you in your path.

 

 

As regards your falling back in household matters from

spirituality, you need not consider household matters as distinct from

spirituality at all! When you consecrate every act of your household

in your Beloved Divine Form's name, every act becomes WORSHIP. A work

perfectly done is verily worship! Rituals are meant only for

purifications of the soul, and if you can get spiritual satisfaction

and purity by doing your routine tasks perfectly, rituals are not

needed at all.....This is the path of Karma Yoga. But, kindly do a

soul-searching whether you are living in such an exalted mind state!

Many spiritual aspirants assume that they have such an exalted mind

state while in reality they refrain from rituals only because of lack

of faith in rituals! This is living in fool's paradise.....which will

not help in progress of soul. Believe me....rituals and samskars have

been designed scientifically as aids to help a normal person to purify

his soul and evolve spiritually. They can be discarded ONLY if you

are really spiritually mature to an extent that these are mere outward

tasks.

 

If you feel that you can tread the path of karma yoga where "you

stake your claim only on performance of your duty on not on the

results accruing from it", march ahead Brave Heart! Live a normal

life with the belief that you are doing it as your assigned duty.....

Be highly ethical in all your activities......Then no matter what you

do.....your spiritual progress will be unhindered by mundane

obstacles. Let Mother guide you.

 

Regarding your health, you can try the floral prayer to Mother

which has been very effective for many followers of the path.

Offering to walk from the foothills to the Holy Tirumala is one prayer

which has worked miraculously to restore good health for many persons.

You may try out the way that appeals to you best. If you are looking
