Dear Richards,

I am agree with you. It will sound unfair to many but.....One

should realise that Though people are ready to help you still

Good gesture shows how honest you are. Most of the people do not understand

this vital matter. Every one has own family and every one has own priority. If

one gives you free help , He i has shown his goodness. But what

It is responded in rare case.

I am fully agree what one is doing business to support family.

You have also every right to do whatever business you like. Those,

who wants things free should ask their inner soul that what free things /

services , they offering to others.

Keep it up.

Dear Srimanji,

Namaskar!!! On my name card it says I am, "Gemologist & Designer" - it doesn't

say

businessman. I am not trained in business. And apart from Sannyasi EVERYONE is

in

business... otherwise how can anyone support themselves? Teachers are selling

knowledge, leaders are selling leadership, everyone has to have a profession.

And

profession means selling time or goods.

I am involved with a precious fashion jewellery company, Astral Gemstone

Talismans -

http://www.agt-gems.com - establised in 1975. Since last 15 years I am not

involved in

buying nor selling. I work for AGT as Designer. There are 30 other employees who

handle

sales, purchases, accounting, etc., business activities. I only engage in PG and

design.

AGT, the company I work for, only sells fine gems and precious jeweled

talismans. Other

Sacred items, like Shalagram Shila, Lakshmi conch, etc., we do not sell

(although I possess

these items for puja); and other sacred items in our Museum are also not for

sale because

they cannot be scientifically identified, nor easily replaced. AGT is only a

"jewellery"

company. And I'm in the business of being an employee.

dear richards,

why are apologetic about doing the gems business? It is also another

business- albeit a costly one.

It is no doubt highly professionalised and a professional should be

very proud of his profession.

You will be classified as a businessman if you are selling gems. On

the other hand, if you are only giving away consultancy on gems(for

consideration of course), then you are strictly professional.

In any case, I do not see why should you defend yourself. On the

other hand, the very fact that it is a highly professionalized and

expertise oriented will lead to the problem that common man does not

know whether he is getting his due or not.

That is where the gemologists should be very careful. They should not

only maintain highly honest and ethical standards but also, should

see that the common man knows that such standards are being

maintained. Maintainance of human values are must in any walk of

life.

Dont mistake me but this is the message I give whether you are a

gemologist, management consultantant, astrologer, dentist or simply

a car mechanic.
