Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear P. Kumar, Namaste With JK's invitation, I went from Puri to visit JK in Mumbai. In fact, Sanjay ji and all others who attended the Puri Conference can confirm that I only had my own jewellery with me and I did NOT have lose gemstones for sale to anyone who asked, simply because I DID NOT have any with me. If the size and quality of my own jewellery upset you, that is your own problem which you will have to deal with yourself. I did not look at anyone's chart that evening at JK's house after he picked me up from the Hotel. In fact, when he had an SJC meeting, I refused to attend that Sunday. Aparna came over to JK's office and they were curious to look at MY chart. Her assessment incorporated Uranus and KP ayanamsa in order to interpret my chart! Might I suggest that you find your own peace of mind with your own karmic dues. I am cc'ing this mail to JK. Now remember your visit to Mumbai when you stayed at the house of shri J.K.Dasgupta in Vashi, Mumbai. You were having gemstones for sale with you, almost all of which cost more than Rs. 50,000/-. I (Praveen Kumar then), along with others discussed astrology with you and had shown you my and my mother's horoscopes. My mother is 100% paralyzed and suffered in almost all respects. However, you appreciated her horoscope, had given some favourable comments about her health, even talked about a career for her, declared her married life very happy etc etc. which all was complete nonsense. After describing the facts by me, you had justified the same with the same horoscope. In other readings too, nobody there was impressed with your astrological competence. Neither you have demonstrated your astrological skills here on this forum of vedic astrology convincingly. Persons like you always elude to comment over unknown horoscope. My question is that when you can't predict efficiently, how can you come to know what would have been the results without a gemstone and that the particular stone has benefited the native. If you recommend a stone despite all this, what people should think about you ? This is for all astrologers (or quacks) who sell gemstones themselves or get hefty commission from the Jewelers. It is most unfortunate that people having blind faith in astrology get cheated of their hard earned money. Will you stop all this now or will arrange for some messages protecting you by stating that you are a good astrologer and they had been benefited by you. Incidentally, I remind the warning of Shri K.N.Rao - " Never get impressed by the fact that one has authored books on astrology or is the so called (even self proclaimed) Guru - always ask him first to tell something about you himself / herself, only then go ahead". I have written all this to warn innocent people here lest they should get cheated. One should avoid consulting astrologers who sell gemstone themselves or insist on purchasing from particular jewellers or offer to do poojas and remedies for you on exorbitant payments. They can do nothing good to you except depriving you of your hard earned money. Guest guest
Dear Swee, If you refuge to acknowledge the facts, nothing can be done. What you state is a blatant lie. I had met you personally. After my request to comment upon my mother's horoscope, first you asked for my own observation (and you said that you will correct me afterwards !) , I say shrewdly. But I didn't reveal anything and what followed was shocking as I never expected that utter failure on your part. Same story was repeated with others too. Anyway, do you attempt strangers' horoscope here on this list ? Have you demonstrated your skills convincingly ? Now I don't take professional astrologers seriously unless I test them. Predictive astrology is a very difficult subject. However, people not knowing it presume that those proclaim to know it can help them through remedies, gemstones etc. They hardly imagine that the fellows themselves don't understand a horoscope properly and just cheat them. In my letter, I just wanted to highlight it. Of course, there is a world of gemstones. But, the question is: 1) whether we know for certain that they can really modify our destiny ? 2) if yes here, do we know how to derive the so called benefits ? 3) If yes even here, are they competent enough who are doing so for exorbitant charges ? However, I don't want to drag all this further and won't submit any reply anymore. Love, Swee Tuesday, January 10, 2006 11:20 PM Swee Thank you... Dear Swee, I met with (name removed), after four this afternoon and collected my pearl. It truly is very exquisite, and feels so very special... Thank you so very, very much! I smiled as much when I saw it, as I appreciated the great kindness and support that has came from you to help me find my pearl. Even I sense you carefully, as with all you say and do put a lot of thought into making this happen for me and for all that it brings. I will share with you how I feel. I must say at the moment I feel quite overwhelmed and excited as the day my pearl is first worn is the culmination of some totally different thinking and perhaps clarity around my refinancing and financial investment for the future. Sorry if I talk in riddles, though so much has happened since our chat on Saturday. What you spoke of was ahead of where I was on Saturday. You always amaze me in this way! A remarkably opportune meeting with an acquaintance, (name removed), on Friday 6 January and again on Saturday 7 January, following our chat, resulted in me turning my original plans and thoughts on their head. I am no longer moving into [Name of place removed] ( and you saw that)! I hope all the work you have been doing for the conference is going really well and giving you a great feeling of achievement. The little time I spent with (name removed), as she is so tired and focused on her degree, I had a tremendous sense of a very capable, remarkable young lady who has so much to her. Her mother's daughter. I look forward to chatting to you when you get back from India. Dear Swee, thank you again Love (name removed) xx Sunday, January 29, 2006 12:55 PM Swee Chan RE: Still Kicking Hello Swee, Don't know if you remember me from some years ago - you supplied me with a mandarin garnet. I still wear it lovingly every day and I haven't had to sell it yet! Many times since then I've looked at it and the good fortune is still going on these days. I just wonder if you could recommend another gemstone for this period -to drive me on to even better things! I've some big decisions to make over the next while and find it hard to make them -even though they are positive decisions. PS What's Burmese Astrology (I saw it mentioned in your bio) Burma is a place I'm kind of fascinated with. Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna || Namaste Sri. P Kumar Ji and others, I write to address two issues in reference to your ongoing conversation ; 1) The use and power of "jyotish quality gems", as clearly mentioned in the shastras is an established, time tested, and verified part of remedial jyotish. Let there be no confusion about the effect of gems, provided, they are prescribed and installed with Due Diligence. Most people (at least, in India) that you see wearing gems for Jyotish reasons are ( I hesitantly say) are wearing "non-jyotish quality" gems, and results thereof.....But it will be our error to say that "Jyotish quality gems" do not work...they Sure do. I can myself attest to it as a personal experience. 2) It is shameful to see someone question the credibility of a highly esteemed, and respected member of SJC, and an even more competent and "gifted" jyotish who has truly blessed a lot of us by her guidance and blessings, not to exclude her predictive expertise. Good gems start giving results even before they are installed, just by being near you, this is what my Guru told me. This is exactly what happened to me, and so I truly believe ( you may look at my chart to see how and why). We are all here to learn , and learn from each other just as I learn from all of you, and this kind of ego will never create a conducive learning environment. I request Sri. P Kumar ji to re-consider your thought-process and re-consider your theory on gems. More Importantly, please refrain from giving harsh and biased comments on someone particular, specially about someone as competent, gifted and learned as Swee Ji. Hope my statements, although non-Jyotish in content, are taken in the right spirit. Namaste Gaurav Jain
Guest guest
Om Namo Bhagawate Vasudevaya, Dear Swee ji, Namaste. I don't know why Praveen Kumar writes so much offensive about you. He has written in the past also the same thing, what he has wrote now in his another hate mail. See these old links vedic astrology/message/55456 Exactly same thing he is repeating again. This was your reply to his email: vedic astrology/message/56149 Your reply shows real depth of a Guru and knowledge. He himself has admitted many times his failed predictions and that's why he also admitted he does not attempt puzzles etc: See this link: vedic astrology/message/56202 Then he dcided to leave the list after facing lot of criticism. Now he is back with the same rhetoric and negative attitude. My request to new members who do not know the history, it is better to ignore this kind of mails. I have been member of this list quite a period, I saw his mails only asking just more information like vedic astrology/message/55998 You will find his hundreds of messages like this. Go and check the archive to find out his positive contribution to this list, other than creating -ve controversies. I hope someday he will come out of this hatred. I went through those messages, pointed to, by you, and to some other messages, that lead from there onwards. I came to know that Praveen does not believe in the predictive capabilities of Sanjay Rath and Swee Chan and also that, he almost a hatred towards them!! No, hared is not at all good, and regarding the predictive capabilities of astrologers many may have different opinions, even though Praveen has every right to keep his opinion. In those messages you point to, any one could see that at that time, members like, Namai, Pradeev Gurav, Vijayadas Pradeep, Praveen Kumar etc were learning and was trying to accumulate knowledge from all possible directions, which they are continuing still now. We could see Pradeev Gurav, Raghunadh Namai etc forming one front supporting Swee and Rath, while Praveen alone on the other, supported by very few members such as Suresh Surendranathan!! Though small it was good and sincere fight of arguments!! How can a single person fight such knowledgeable personalities?? From where the energy is coming from??!! There is no other answer, I could imagine - but that 'his sincerity'. His hatred, which in itself is a mistake, even could be pardoned due to that positive note!! That urge for true knowledge of astrology SHOULD BE appreciated!! I cannot but completely agree with the valuable comments of Suresh Surendranathan that, "I read Mr Praveen's message and to me it gave the picture of a man making sincere attempts to learn this divine science but whose objective thinking raises questions which are yet unanswered." I support the learning efforts of Praveen Kumar in affirmative, while being truly against the hatred he express towards Swee or Rath. Dear Praveen, continue with your leaning efforts, and the quest for the true knowledge of astrology - one day your name will also shine and will be well noticed by all. DON"T be afraid of anything, as long as you are sincere. But hatred is an enemy from inside, so please don't let it conquer you. Let true gurus like K N Rao show you the path. (By the way, I don't have much interaction with the books or the astrological comments of K N Rao, but has very good opinion about him, due to many other things). To the people, who would like to know, why I am raising my voice in support of Praveen, please read these links, and know how frustrated a person becomes, when he is not getting the exact type of knowledge he is searching for. (which is evident in the messages of Praveen). vedic astrology/message/18848 <vedic astrology/message/18848> vedic astrology/message/18535 <vedic astrology/message/18535> vedic astrology/message/55477 <vedic astrology/message/55477> vedic astrology/message/55456 <vedic astrology/message/55456> vedic astrology/message/55472 <vedic astrology/message/55472> vedic astrology/message/56202 <vedic astrology/message/56202> Follow these links or the links from there in to know about the attitude of this true seeker of astrology, though some of the negative trends pointed to by Pradeev Gurav is present there. One more valuable comment given by Suresh Surendranathan, in the message vedic astrology/message/55472 <vedic astrology/message/55472> comes to my mind. I am quoting it here: " The best way to help Mr Praveen and others in his situation is for others who are knowledgeable to come up with predictions that inspire confidence and converts a quasi-believer into believer, instead of pulling punches at one another which is becoming an unwelcome habit on this forum." I would also like to add that providing reasonable and rational theoretical answers also would be of help in keeping that real quest for astrological knowledge intact, while instead of belief (which means disbelief is also there), bringing trust in astrology, to the forefront. Praveen you may not be a great astrologer at present, but there resides the potential for the same!! Know it. Also know that I would like to state the same about Raghunatha Namai as well. Of course these are positive personal opinions that I voice in support of two - of you and Namai, and hopes that through your efforts, one day, you will be able to give valuable contributions for the cause of astrology, through well written books or the like. (The fact that both of you have much difference of opinion about - the paths to follow in learning astrology, selection of gurus, opinions about new and old systems etc, does not make any difference to me). I would also suggest Praveen to take note of the fact that leaned gurus like Dakshnamoorthi ji, Pandit ji etc are some the best resources of knowledge you can ever dream of, forum like VA forum the best place for interaction and accumulation of knowledge, and also that tools like JHora software provided by PVR is the best tools available for the purpose of astrological research. Contributions by such people are high above all, and learn to value such knowledge, and respect them, even when we may have a different opinion in many things. Difference of openion is one thing, and the respect for true unselfish contributions of a person another. When some one mix and match these two, hatred mails results. Please understand this difference. (In short I value the knowledge of Swee Chan or Richard, but have a different opinion.)
