Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaaya Dear Student Rao: 1) Sinendra Malai is a Tamil poetic work on Prasna Shastra...It is composed in highly chaste ancient tamil. Unless you have a good knowledge on ancient form of poetic tamil, that book may not be of much use to you. Another interesting thing is,...it is not an original work! It is a translation of another sanskrit work called "Pragnyaana Deepika". It is also known as "Gnaana Pradeepakam." So, if you have the "Pragnyaana Deepika", kindly do not bother to hunt for Sinendra Malai. A translated version of the above sanskrit work by name "Prasna Arooda Phala Nirnayam" has been published by Kadalangudi Publishers. In this book, I think, the author has given some verses from Sinendra Malai also to show that sinendra Malai is a verbatim translation of the sanskrit work. 2) To get an original work on "Sahadeva Aroodam" is difficult because there are so many books by that name! As Shri Sahadeva was reputed to be an excellent astrologer, there has been a barrage of works attributed to him. Many of these Aroodams are based on Numerical squares containing many numbers and some short and terse predictions based on that.....It is difficult to say if they are authentic though, if you have Divine Grace, any of those Arooda Chakrams can be your medium for arriving at an answer for your burning problems on a yes/ no basis. However, there is one classical work called "Sahaadeva Nimitta Choodamani" published by Saraswathi Mahal Library. It is difficult to say if this was also ACTUALLY composed by Shri Sahadeva or ATTRIBUTED to him.....But, it is different from the numerical squares discussed above....It works on a different mechanism( how to use it is given in the nimitta choodamani itself), it is to be consulted ONLY on Sundays after you have done some preliminary worships to the classical work and Lord Ganapathy on Saturday night and also on Sunday Morning. It works in practical cases. It also is best for arriving at a yes/no answer. You may try to get a copy of that. Regarding the third book, I am also hunting for it! Wish you all the best in your hunt for these astrological treasures. Blessed be. vedic astrology, Raghunatha RaoNemani <raon1008 wrote: > > Om Krishna Guru > > Namaste All, > > I am looking for the following books or any lead information on getting a copy of them. > > 1) Sahadeva Arudam > 2) Sinendra Malai also called Jinendra Malai > 3) Jyhothida Pratyaksha Anubhava Aruda Sastra > > Please write to me with any information of the above books on from where I may get them. Guest guest
Wow!!!!!!! That was a real pundit's response to an earnest question!! My regards to Dakshinamoorthi ji for providing such an answer, and to Namai for asking such a question. Dakshninamoorthi ji said: "To get an original work on "Sahadeva Aroodam" is difficult because there are so many books by that name!" While reading the first para by Dakshnamoorthi ji, I was thinking of a Book "Presanaayana" containing more than 1000 slokas written by a sishyas sishyas sishya of author of Presnamarga deeling with Devapresna, and also about "Presan Gnaana Pradeepam" and "Gnaana Pradeepika". All similar to the names mentioned by Dakshninamoorthi ji. So when I read the above lines "To get.......", I was struck to it, and was quit impressed by that vast knowledge! Anybody who is really in search of ancient texts should be aware of the truth: "Almost always there exist many texts with the same name, especially if we are searching for books on popular subjects". Guest guest
Dear Raghunatha rao nemani garu, Thank you for your mail. Jinendra malai is a Tamil work written by a Jain muni Upendrachariar. Being a jain, the author named his work as Jinendramalai. It is a work on Horary astrology, extensively dealing with various questions that could be raised for which answers would be available from the Horary chart. While the author does not claim it, I think that it depends on the ganaparadipika, a sanskrit work ( I do not have this work with me) Jinendra malai has been published by Allied Publishers private limited in 1890, the work being translated by Mr chidambaram iyer. The latest print available is of 1988, a copy of which I bought in a seond hand stores in Lakidi ka pool. The address of the publisher is Allied Publishers (P) Ltd.13/14, Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi -110002 Hope this helps, regards, Kishore patnaik n vedic astrology, "kishore mohan" <kishorepatnaik09 wrote: > > Is not Jinendra malai on prasna sastra? > > Kishorepatnaik > > vedic astrology, Raghunatha RaoNemani > <raon1008@> wrote: > > > > Om Krishna Guru > > > > Namaste All, > > > > I am looking for the following books or any lead information on > getting a copy of them. > > > > 1) Sahadeva Arudam > > 2) Sinendra Malai also called Jinendra Malai > > 3) Jyhothida Pratyaksha Anubhava Aruda Sastra > > > > Please write to me with any information of the above books on > from where I may get them.
