sir,

I apologise that I have not read the full text of your post but let

me please give some of my thoughts on the subjects.

The situations we meet are destiny whereas our reactions to the same

are freewill.

WE have no command over the fruits thereof, though.

That you have found yourself on the topmost branch of a tree is fate.

Whether you would want to jump down or come down slowly is your free

will OFTEN. (I said often because sometimes, fate is such that it

woule have made the decision also for you and you would come under

the spell of the destiny to take a hasty decision!)

Once you have decided to jump down and took a leap, you have no

command over what would happen-whether you would land safely or brake

a leg or two .

On the other hand, if you have already done a karma and have to face

it, you can do it by enduring it, by taking recourse to Love- the

love of the Lord(bhakti)or of mankind(karma) or by trying to reduce

the bad karma.

The vedic remedies come under this last group of upaghataka

karma, wherein you are trying to reduce (or more literally, destroy)

your bad karma.

HOwever, there is no prayaschita for garuka (or serious) karmas

whereas you can have some prayachittam for other karmas.

We can also try to understand the effect of remedies on the basis of

time continnum.

The time continnum is a lateral curve of the time, each moment being

vibrating to your karma. This vibrations can lead to the result of

yoga at every moment or dosha (or both)

For eg., you need to have the vivaha yoga at thousands of moments

in your life. Otherwise, you can not enjoy the conjugal bliss after

your marriage.

Thus, for those who did not get married, these yogas do exist but

they are very weak.

The remedies will vibrate to strengthen these yogas so that the

marriage will eventually result.

Similiarly, the doshas can be reduced effectively.

In other words, the remedies can not create a yoga or remove totally

a dosha. It can only increase or decrease the effects.

Please let me know if I am correct in my understanding.
