Dear members,

I have been trying to get the birth details (and thereby horoscope)

of Hanuman for a long time but in vain.

However, I have the following ideas and would like to know the view

of the esteemed members of this group:

1. Hanuman was elder to Sri Ram but I am not sure on the number of

years, could it be around 7-8 years? Any views?

2. I have heard from some source, not very reliable I guess, that

Hanuman was born on Shukla Chaitra? Is this understanding correct?

3. The event that he is more known by his mother and was educated by

Surya in his childhood would thereby place Sun in Aries in 4th.

making Capricorn Lagna. Mars should be in Lagna, Moon in 10th. in

Libra.

4. Taking into consideration the fact that he was hit by Indra in

his early years, I could place Jup in Lagna.

Could anyone guide me with my study on Sri Ram bhakt Hanuman's chart?

Sri Ram's chart is very popular but Hanuman's chart could be a great

study as well.

Thanks

Souvik

I saw a chart of Sri Hanuman in somebody's prayer room and the

planetary placements were as follows:

Lagna - Aries

Sun - Libra

Moon - Sagittarius

Mars - Aries

Mercury - Virgo

Jupiter - Sagittarius

Venus - Virgo

Saturn - Aquarius

Rahu - Virgo

Ketu - Pisces

Note the occupation and aspect of all yogakarakas (Sun, Mars,

Jupiter) on Aries lagna, Ketu in moksha sthana, Debilitated Venus,

exalted Mercury.

Do not know the authenticity of the chart. But just thought it might

be of interest to people here.

Dear Shri. Ganesh:

I think the position of Sun should be in Sagittarius as we generally

celebrate Hanumath Jayanthi in Margasirsh Moola nakshatra (Amavasya)

is it not?

But, otherwise, the planetary placements are the same as the ones in a

chart that is in my possession from some reference. I also did not

post it mainly due to lack of authenticity of the horoscope.

It is good that you have posted it for the consideration of members of

this group.

Blessed be.

Dear members,

I am a learner so please excuse and correct my mistakes.

However, I feel this data seems to be incorrect.

My reasoning:

Sri Ram had:

Rahu in Saggi

Jupiter in Cancer

If Hanumanji had Rah in Virgo, the age difference between them would

be no less than 13 yrs (Rah takes approx. 18 months to change signs).

If Hanumanji had Jup in Saggi, in 13 yrs (+/- 1 yr), the transit Jup

should be either in Capricorn or Saggi or in Scorpio. However, there

is no possibility of it being in Cancer.

If we take the position of Saturn in Aquarius, it would take it to

reach Libra in no less than 20 years.

There are some other data that might be useful.

During the setubandhan Hanuman was undergoing Sade-sati. So

obviously we was around 30 years then.

We may expect Sri Ram also around to be of the same age, not more

than 2-3 years of difference with Hanumanji, the latter being older.

I may be getting the whole picture wrong, so please feel free to

correct me.

Dear members,

I would like to apologize for my incorrect calculations yesterday.

On re-visiting this issue, I found the following:

If we estimate a difference of age of approx. 22 years i.e.

Hanumanji being 22 yrs older than Sri Ram, we can estbalish the

truth of the chart at hand:

Hanumanji:

Rah in Virgo, In around 22.5 yrs, it would be in Saggi

Jup in Saggi, In around 21 yrs, it would be in Cancer

Saturn in Aquarius, In around 20 + years in would be in Libra and

can go retro in 22 + years.

Thanks for sharing this information.

Dear Souvik,

Namaskar

Saturn goes

retrograde once a year, when the Sun visits the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth

and ninth house from him in transit. So why did you add +2 years for

retrogression?

I searched

online and many sources are saying that Hanuman was born at sunrise in a cave. Sunrise itself is

considered Rudra-ghati, which adds up as Hanuman is considered an incarnation

of Rudra. The Sun in lagna/seventh in mesha or thula, also confirms the dictum

that he was without a parent whilst growing up. So the birth during

Chaitra-Purnima is definite, putting Sun in the lagna and moon in the seventh

house.

Now if Sade

Sati occured for Hanuman whilst he was in Lanka, that would mean that Sri Rama

was undergoing a Saturn return at that time, making him 27½  - 32½ years old. This

adds up with the 14 year period of exhile for Sri Rama between 23-37 years of

age.

The stories

indicate that his mother left for svarga loka early in his childhood, and the

birth in a cave, also requires very specific combinations, so from this we

should be able to estimate a reasonable chart.

How did you

estimate the position of the nodes for Sri Hanumanji? Did you just guess or do

you have a legitamate reason?

Best

wishes,

Dear Vistiji,

Thanks for these pointers. No I did not guess anything, rather I

myself am searching for this answer.

A few members of this groups suggested the horoscope(with Aries

rising) and I was validating the theory with the birth details of

Sri Ram, thats it.

Thank you very much for educating me on the rule of Saturn

retrogression. I was unaware of this.

Yes, the details suggested by you sounds good.

I am desparately looking for an age difference between Sri Ram and

Hanumanji.

Yes, the sade-sadi during setu bandhan reference is on this.

So, will it be reasonable to say the following:

Lagna-Aries

Sun-Aries

Mon-Libra

Now, if Sun was in Aries for Hanumanji and Sri Ram, can we say that

their birth year differences could be whole numbers like 1 or 2 yrs?

If that be so, Rah could be in Scorpio or Libra for Hanumanji.

Your views will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Souvik

Dear Souvik,

Namaskar

Why not the

same year? And how do you know that he isn’t younger than Sri Rama?

Point is

that we need a much clearer reference to his birth first.

to know the view

of the esteemed members of this group:

1. Hanuman was elder to Sri Ram but I am not sure

on the number of

years, could it be around 7-8 years? Any views?

2. I have heard from some source, not very

reliable I guess, that

Hanuman was born on Shukla Chaitra? Is this

understanding correct?

3. The event that he is more known by his mother

and was educated by

Surya in his childhood would thereby place Sun in

Aries in 4th.

making Capricorn Lagna. Mars should be in Lagna,

Moon in 10th. in

Libra.

4. Taking into consideration the fact that he was

hit by Indra in

his early years, I could place Jup in Lagna.

Could anyone guide me with my study on Sri Ram

bhakt Hanuman's chart?

Sri Ram's chart is very popular but Hanuman's

chart could be a great

study as well.

Thanks

Dear Vistiji,

No I have not ruled that possibility either.

I found this post which says that Hanuman is born of the same payasa

that the wives of Dasharatha had.

Hanuman

By Sri D.Ramkissoon B.A. (Hons)

The Legend : The Origin

Sri Hanumanji is an incarnation of Lord Siva.

Brihaspati (the preceptor of the gods) had an attendant by the name

of Punjikasthala who was cursed to assume the body of a female

monkey. The curse was to be removed on her giving birth to an

incarnation of Lord Siva. Accordingly, she was born as Anjana and,

together with her husband Kesari (so named on account of his being

as brave as a lion), lived a life of chastity and purity. She

performed intense Tapasya (austerities) for a great many years,

during which period she worshipped Lord Siva who being pleased with

her granted her a boon. She asked that He (Lord Siva) be born to her

so that she may be freed from the curse.

When Dasaratha, the king of Ayodhya was given the sacred payasa

(pudding) by Agnideva to share among his wives so that they may have

divine children (Ram, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughna), by divine

ordinance, a bird (kite) snatched a fragment of that pudding and,

whilst flying over the forest, dropped it where Anjana was engaged

in worship. Pavandev (the deity presiding over the wind) delivered

that fragment of pudding to the outstretched hands of Anjana who

immediately swallowed it. With that grace, she, in due course, gave

birth to Hanumanji. Thus we find that Lord Siva incarnated as

Hanumanji in the bodily form of a monkey through the grace and

blessings of his god-father Pavandev, with Anjana and Kesari as his

earthly parents.

Moreover, I found the following about the Nakshatra Swati:

Swati nakshatra

Swati nakshatra (Bootis or Arcturus) Spread from 6:40' to 20: Tula.

Lord is Sukra, the deity is the Wind and because of this latter

factor this causes the attributes of the Wind. Restlessness of

disposition or physical restlessness, inability to stay still at any

place comes from it; also fidgetiness and noise. It is self-assured

and asserting. The winds (Murut) are the Lords of North-West. The 49

of them under the `Paban', of all Gods he is the strongest and most

obstinate. From these are derived the knowledge, the physical

internal adjustments of the 5 Winds - Pan, Apan, Vyan, Udan and

Saman. Also from this comes the storms and the whirl-wind, the

concrete disturbance of the atmosphere, A person born under this

star is good at buying and selling, his wealth and property come and

go quite easily. He is an independent sort of man, always striving

for more independence. Asceticism is yet another attribute of this

star. Diseases of the wind are to be treated in reference to this .

The Wind is the great scavenger, it sweats the dross and purifies.

The winnowing of rice bears comparison to this.

Those born in the star Swati are wise, witty and learned. They are

religious and pleasant minded. They are endowed with the body of

kingly symbols, bright and handsome and loved by their wives. They

perform religious works, truthful, experts in transactions, sexy,

givers and learned. They are obedient, lovers of pious people,

experts in architecture and sculpture, stingy and respect gods and

brahmins. They help others, daring, long lived, large eyed, kind,

famous, lovers of relatives and friends, independent, eat optimum

food, and followers of their own religion.

I also found that the muhurta just after sunrise is Rudra muhurta.

So, this does establish the fact that Sun was in Aries in Lagna and

Moon in Libra in 7th.

Well still searching for other references for other planet positions.

Thanks

Dear Souvik,

Namaskar

Thanks for

presenting the story. I had read it a few times already, but only this time did

i realize that the conception time of Hanuman, Sri Rama, Laxman and Bharat,

would be very similar. See part of the fruit/prasad that Dasarathas queens were

supposed to eat came to Anjana.

Thus it is

very likely that the conception time of all four could be very much the same! If

so then Hanuman and Rama could be the same age. Seems very likely doesn’t

it? Then presumably everything will be the same as Sri Ramas chart except the Lagna,

Tithi and Nakshatra.

Best

wishes,

large eyed, kind,

famous, lovers of relatives and friends,

independent, eat optimum

I also found that the muhurta just after sunrise
