Take the sankha; halve it. Imagine the one half to be the north pole and the other, the south pole. The whorl on one pole is clockwise and the other anti-clockwise and this how water flows in the northern and southern hemisphere. Guest guest Posted December 23, 2005 Report Share Posted December 23, 2005 Pradeep, Namaste..IMHO, even though the topic is appropriate, the specific examples of gurus (Krishna Paramatma or Paramahamsaji) u give does not compare with the latter list of "gurus" u mention..The former are enlightened, and even though they have to be impelled to give jnana through a sincere shishya's query, the stuff that eventually comes out their mouths is the Truth, borne out by their own experience. That is not true of the latter, no disrespect to them, as they are atbest siksha gurus, what they say is not from experience, but by so called "research". Again, no disrespect to anyone. Just my true feelings, after having darshan of several enlightened ones, and seeing that the term "guru" is used very lightly on this list. But inspite of time and effort spent,some firends are turning a blind eye and giving scant attention towards basic questions.They are not prepared to look whether they are correct or not - they are very keen to look at combinations,and find fault in others. During this journey towards light ,we can make many mistakes,me or you,but the attitude is very important.We should be prepared to start from base zero.Certain attitudes do generate, AtmaRosha at times. Taking the path of Rishis and classics,will never make us wrong. I do agree with you on the loose usage of the term Guru.
