Good thread going on here. As per some of the

malayalam texts that I have read based on Brihat

Jataka,

Lagna Lord in any house will only enhance the good

aspects of that house. Ok then there is the two cases.

What if the lagna lord is a malefic for eg. Mars or a

benefic who is the Karaka for that Bhava eg. Ju as LL

in the 5th house

Mars in the fifth house is supposed to cause abortions

and uterus related problems for the spouse and in

almost all the cases that I have seen seems to have

problems with the first pregnancy of your wife.

Now this text also says that if Mars is in the 5th

house as Lagna lord with an aspect from Ju, there will

be one son who will bring happiness to your life.

Also regarding the lagnesh and pakesh effects, we

should also look at Mr Larsen's article. Please also

refer to the Kalpadruma yoga effects since dispositors

could be a strong force and the reasoning sounds very

logical

Yes, I am happy that the view changed only after my post giving the

Parasar view of the LL and its placement in the 5th house.

But I am sorry I am not getting a reply to my question to

Dakshinastrologer about the classical literature he was referring to

in support of his theory that LL is harmful in all houses. It would be

nice to hear the other side which challenges the Parasara theory.

is ourselves. So wherever lagnesh occupies a house, it acuires the significance

and characteristics of that house for the self only I repeat for the self. This

can be understood in a better way e.g. let us assume SUN is our lagnesh and it

is placed in the lagna i.e. in the sign of Leo.What is the significance of the

Planet Sun? Sun is the king of all planets. Sun is a natural Atmakaraka. So the

native inculcate the qualities of Sun within himself. The native thinks that he

is the person above all other person. Others are nest to him.Every other person

should follow him but he will not follow others. This is the reason for his

downfall because Sun is a natural atmakaraka also. If the lagnesh occupies trik

houses (6,8 or 12) it becomes weak being in those houses. The person may be of

loose character , he may be expending more than his income but on the other

side he may be residing in a foreign country from the place of his birth, he

may be against his father because Sun

is the karaka of father also . Like wise when Sun is in 2nd house means lagnesh

has occupied the house of dhan and family. When we consider the native his

source of income may be from family members. On the other hand when we consider

the significances of 2nd house , the native may be living separately from his

family members because of karkatwa of Sun. Likewise we may enumerate the

significances and results of each houses and every planets depending upon

their attributes and qualities. I tried it to make you understand in my own

words and understandings. This can be verified with the known events of the

native. Acually whosoever has written on this topic in this thread everybody is

correct. Problem lies with us to understand the writings of verses of our great

rishis. Thanks and regards, Ramesh Mishra "A. Ravindran Nair"

Ms. Jyoti's view as there are number of texts in South Indian Astrology

(Malayalam) which gives immense power to LL. One book SAMBOORNA JADAKA

GANITHAM by Dr. P.S. Nair, page 160/161 specifies it in detail. 1. LL if

positied in any house or joined with any house lord shall add power to such

house or house lord. 2. Wherever LL is posited, that house shall prosper. 3.

These are subject to bad aspect or yuti or posited in trik houses (6/8/12).

Since this topic touches the basics of Astrology I would request all the

learned gurus to post their guidance so that misunderstanding or misconcept can

be set right. Regards, Ravi Nair jyothi_b_lakshmi
