Guest guest
How you internalize is beyond my control and am least bothered and interested in it. It is your perception, and you need to manage it! When it comes out of your mouth and pen in this forum, it has to follow some rules and regulations. I have to make sure of that!! If anyone who is sensitive, it is you! You shd learn to respect others opinion and view point. Even in your apology (so called), it doesnt sound apologetic!! This is a forum, where everyone is free to articulate and might I add in a dignified manner! Please dont forget that! -Narayan- vedic astrology, Surya Rao <suryarao12> wrote: > > Yes, Sir, understood and in future I shall be very careful. Guest guest
Dear Surya Rao, > In fact your advice have enlightened me not to respond to > sensitive people in their Home turf as they wield the > authority to expel anyone whom they don't like. Two points: (1) Whether Vishnu was "sensitive" or not is irrelevant to the discussion. Telling somebody "write concrete points. Not silly questions" is against sabhaa maryaadaa (the decorum of a public assembly). Even if Vishnu is not sensitive and was not offended, it is still not acceptable behavior. However confident you are of your own views, always give the benefit of doubt to other members and treat them with respect. (2) Nobody is on a "Home turf" here and this is a level playing field. You don't have to go too far to see an example. Vijaydas Pradeep and I were involved in a debate on houses in divisions. When Partha (another SJC Jyotish Guru like me) made a derisive remark about Pradeep, I warned Partha to behave. It did not matter to me that Partha was dear to me, that he was an SJC guru or that he was deriding MY opponent in a debate! We "wield authority" with responsibility and without any bias. We treat all members with respect as long as they treat others with respect and stick to astrology. By labeling some people as "sensitive" and making a veiled suggestion of bias on the part of moderators, you are over-stepping your boundaries again. Please stick to astrology and treat others with repect. We will leave you on your own if you do so, whether or not we agree with your views! There is no need to reply to this message and just change your behavior. Guest guest
Namaste friends, > Learn what is Rasi and Varga and then moderate. Teach those kids also. Just wanted to make one thing clear to members. Neither Narayan nor I claim to be experts in Jyotish. We have our own limited understanding of Rasi and Varga and we are humble enough to realize that we could be wrong. We are moderators not because of our knowledge, but because we started the list. We don't decide whose technical arguments are right and whose arguments are wrong. Instead, we decide whose behavior is acceptable and whose is not. There is no moderation of astrological content on this list. If someone maintains a scholarly tone and respect for all, we don't interfere at all and welcome people from all schools of thought to express their views. If someone starts insulting other members, then we step in and discipline them. > You tell as to which sentences were wrong? I have already mentioned. For starters, telling Vishnu "write concrete points. Not silly questions" was wrong. Actually, the list of offenses kept growing up with each further mail you sent... Ladies and gentlemen, confidence is a good thing. Over-confidence may also be bearable. But, when it is accompanied by headstrong behavior and insults hurled at others, it is not appropriate behavior on a public forum. Please give respect and take respect. Guest guest
Dear Sreenadh, > But at timesa your words sounds more arrogant than his!!! If you feel that somebody is behaving arrogantly and insulting others in an astrological discussion, please send a mail to vedic astrology-owner with the offensive mail and a description of exactly what offended you. Narayan or I - moderators - will take a look at your complaint. If we deem appropriate, we will warn the offending member. If the offense is too great, we will remove him/her from the list. However, don't complain about the sternness Narayan and I show in dealing with offending members and don't mistake that sternness for arrogance. In a group having 4700+ members, we HAVE to be stern with those who insult others and break the rules. While you are on the list, please stick to astrology and stop discussing people and behavior. That is the work of moderators. Whenever you write something, think "is this worth the time of 4700+ people?"
